No idea what our roads are like, but we have a covering on the ground. Not much though. It seems to be warming up now -4°C. Was -8°C at midnight.

You'll have to get your snow plough out.

When I lived in Austria I had snow clearing insurance but it got to the point when we decided to stop paying as we thought they were unreliable. Easier to do it ourselves. And of course, the local government sent the snow plough out and dumped it all back on the path again.

Better than here then.  When I was there, I think they didn't care if they cleared it or not presumably on the grounds that the rewards outweighed the risks.  Don't remember any cover for water pipes.  They bury them here about 1m down and the pipes are insulated.  Obviously the water keeps moving so doesn't rest there for too long.  Not long enough to freeze anyway.

Yep. When I lived in the Alps, I spent more times unburying the car from the efficient Swiss snow plow service than I ever spent worrying about the roads not being plowed. They were almost always plowed. And when they were not, my little Subaru AWD car had no problems. Actually had to take my wife to her work on some snow days, and it was actually faster to get the car out early, and get her their driving on the snowy roads than having to unbury the car then drive her in on plowed roads.

1.1 cm of rain today. About 4°C, which is definitely tolerable for January. This week should also have about the same temps according to long term forecast.

A little snow near the top of our hill this morning when walking the dog, but none at lower elevations where I live. But we both got pretty wet on the walk from the rain alone.

I'm not in Hungary and here, it's 22 C but very windy.  It was raining quite hard this morning which was unexpected but by the afternoon it was all sweaty.  I heard that there were tornadoes hereabouts.  I can see very high towering black clouds. They look heavy and water filled.

Maybe it's off topic to report on weather from another country.

It was almost hot here in Vegas today, went outside with just a short sleeve shirt on. I'll guess it was nearly 60 F today but in the sun it felt like 80F.

Sounds nice.  Where I am it'll probably be 26 C tomorrow but still windy. I am quite pleased to not have the airco on this time.   

Mrs Fluffy tells me snow expected in HU - 1cm at least but brightening up enough I think for the snow to melt by the end of the week.

I'm on Planet Caribbean.  Not a holiday unfortunately but a major holiday destination. Luckily I'm not paying, just keeping my nose to the grindstone.  I left my Stargate  at home - excess baggage exceeded.

Luckily today it's 26 C  and now very sunny but still a bit windy.

Mrs Fluffy is reporting spring-like weather.

The past two days have been really "balmy" for February. Both days over 10°C (50°F). Worked in the garden. A bit of rain today, but not too bad.

26 C today but quite cloudy.  Had intense sun during the day. Rained all night last night. I got caught in the rain whilst checking out the beach so got rather wet.

Nice weather predicted this weekend it seems. Especially on Sunday Feb 10th. Do suggest getting out and enjoying it.

Using F now and not C since I'm in the states for now...
Was -56 F. in parts of Minn. a few days back, yikes.
Was almost warm enough yesterday in Vegas to ride my bike, got half way down the st. and ad to come home, super windy and chilly in the 30's F. Sunny though...

More 26 C and getting hotter by the minute.  Shifting islands Saturday and likely to be even warmer!

In the North of the North American continent, the weather is stormy on the southern border will sudden big beautiful walls appearing and squalls of illegal arrests in Montana for speaking Spanish while supermarket shopping.   

And outside the window I can see a city in the distances, possibly two and it's really looking cold with snow and ice all over, hunched people with big heavy coats and steamy breath with -5 C. 

I am looking forward to getting back to a civilised country overnight. 

The Captain needs to put the pedal to the metal.

23F in Vegas and snowing, about one inch so far, figures we are moving some items into a storage unit today! The fun never ends....

Quite nice here in Hungary today, about 12 C and very sunny, warm enough for a T-shirt and a light coat. And in the car, T-shirts only perfectly OK.  I was outside doing some DIY and I was too warm with a hoodie on.  If it was strenuous work, T-shirts only would be fine.  Be colder tomorrow and towards the weekend.

Tomorrow (Sunday) will be 18 C and sunny.   It's about 15 C outside now at 0930 but very sunny and nicely warm in the sun.    Drops quite a bit at night.

Mrs Fluffy and I are taking the dog on a walking adventure and if we can manage it, the kids might come as well if they can stop looking at their smartphones.  I also plan to tidy the garden a bit and I might have a go at tidying up the shed.

Be outside and make the most of it!

Put them in a stroller. It is kind of cute. As one ages, one reverts to being treated like a baby. That use to happen to us real old farts, when we could no longer walk, and drolled all over ourselves. But now our teenage children need a stroller to go for a walk with us because they are brain dead to the real world....

I'm not such an extremist and more old school.  For kids, I've resorted to bribery.   

Dog enjoyed the walk this afternoon and discovered the benefits of running around in a stream.   

We weren't so keen on the smell of wet dog.

We went over to the large farmers market yesterday,
I usually try to avoid that place on Saturdays, so many picture popping selfie taking tourists inside that often  I am sorry we didn't eat out instead of shop for food.
Wasn't too bad yesterday, I walked both ways and even got my husband to walk all the way home with me since it was so nice outside.
Looks like another lovely day. Have to start thinking of ping-pong/table tennis again. Perfect weather for a round or two.
Suppose to get up to 68F today .

We walked to an area near here they sometimes use as a film set. It's a hidden valley that was part of a quarry and it's a popular place for people to walk around.  Click here:

When we got down there, we saw they've started to put in fence posts to divide the place up.  We're horrified. It's a very nice area which is surrounded by hills and very few obvious signs of human habitation with a stream running through it. It's also on the edge of a protected area.   

That's the problem with this place - as soon as someone sees some value in it, they ruin it and screw it up.   Mrs Fluffy is rather annoyed so she's going to have words with the mayor.

Excellent weather, today more then 20 C in March is gorgeous. Winter was mild this year and on a day like this we already see many wasps (a draw back for the summer to come)

Sometimes good to have a few days for strong winter, but no mistake one of the good things of Hungary is the weather.

I like the spring and fall best in Hungary.
Summers are way too humid for me here.Grew up in S. Ca. and lived for years in Hawaii, guess I'm a bit spoiled weather wise, expect too much from European weather.
Not sure what's going on with the climate in the world but my husband tells me when he was young and living in Budapest it used to be really cold every winter, the Danube would freeze over and lake Balaton also froze over. They used to crown their Kings on the lake it was frozen that solid, could support hundreds of people, horses and carriages,
My biggest issue with Hungarian winters is the overcast skies. Not ever something I will get used to.
Suppose it all comes down to perspective and where one comes from.
I must say though going swimming in the Pacific Ocean on Christmas day in Hawaii is not something everyone can experience.

18°C here today, I should be out in the garden but silly me. I have only gone a broken my toe.

My one and only and fave niece came to Las Vegas a couple years back with 2 of her old friends.
Me, being the "old auntie" was invited to hang with them at the former Monte Carlo hotel casino in Vegas.
Dang those gals could pary, way too much for me.
They had to call up my hubby to "collect" me hours before the Limo was about to take us all to a all male strip review. She had just purchased 4 insane T-shirts for us gals to wear on our night out. I have just now taken the tags off of my shirt... Nice material but will never wear it out in public, just too rude of a saying on it... Involves worms etc. All I'll say on that subject! Crazy Vegas shirts and all!

I'm too much of a light weight and a good 15 to 20 years their senior. (also a good 30 to 50 lbs lighter then them, they "done me in" with an afternoon of Stella beers and a pool party then dinner / and some wine and vodka, I call it my "orange cone event" meaning I got so sick my niece with her broken foot had to hold my head over the WC.. I call that real Love!)
Gotta know when one is partying with the "big dogs".
Long story short, my niece had her foot in a cast, one of those modern versions where you can take it off to bathe.
I am a tiny bit embarrassed to tell how she broke it but it did involve her running down the stairs to meet up with her fireman/police chief  boyfriend... Was far to excited to have him ring her up!
Can't bring myself to use the exact words she did but she was a bit too egar to see him!! Funny, crazy gal that she is.
Get better, it should heal fast within a few weeks... Still you may need a bit of palinka to get through it.
Speaking of the weather, went out today and realized it was a bit chilly. Got spoiled after these past few nice days of spring weather. Forgot my gloves and beret... Was a bit chilled on our errand walk about.

My take on today's weather.....

It's rubbish!

Occasional drops of rain, a bit dull looking and overcast, slight breeze. Maybe 14 C.

Lows far too low, with almost a chance of frost!  I thought we were done with that.

I could describe it as Brexit Agreement weather - weather no-one wants, tepid and seems to drag on with no sunny uplands or unicorns.

Rain Rain Rain....10 deg C. 

Had to have light heating on - used the wood burner.

I love the rain, no worries soon enough it's going to be hot and humid here.

Really?  Looks to me like all outdoor activities have to be cut back!  The dog is wet and smelly. All our shoes are muddy.  And it's unseasonably cold!
