Room for unmarried couples

Post new topic

Haidermiz

Is it possible for unmarried couples to rent a room for a day or two in jeddah? My friend is coming to jeddah with his girlfriend so he asked me if there might not be any problem if they can rent a room for 2 days. They have to rent 2 rooms of themselves or 1 room is enough? They're unmarried.

XTang

Are you serious?

No reputable place will allow an unmarried couple to rent a room together so forget about it.   They don't ask you to prove marriage proactively but it is apparent from the visas / passports when they check you in.

If you rent two separate rooms and plan to move between them, keep in mind the CCTV cameras and CID presence in the major hotels.  Most of the times, people get away with it but then again, I have actually seen someone get arrested with my own eyes for this exact thing in a hotel in Jeddah.

So my advice would be to come, stay in separate rooms and go back to your relationship when you leave that place.

And how about no much big hotels but small one?

XTang

Small ones are also very risky - it's easier for them to track guests.

And I don't understand why you are not getting it - it is illegal in the country you are talking about. Deal with it and follow the law.

They can survive two days of living in seperate rooms... Better than a lot of time in jail cells alone.

My Saudi friend told me that he meet their female friends in resorts, so resorts are safe I guess? And I heard guys dating in compounds but I'm not sure which compounds

XTang

You can believe what you want to believe.  I have already told you the law.

And as far as compounds go, they are not fully safe.

I've read this news as far as I know neighbors complained about it because it was loud (maybe) . Anyway thanks for your suggestions.

XTang

Yes they complained. The point is that police can and will enter compounds if they need to. Besides you need someone who is living in a compound to be able to stay with them. They don't rent rooms by the day :)

Haidermiz

As you're really old in jeddah and much active you know anyone in compounds?

Priscilla

Please understand that your request is illegal.
I invite you to read the thread that our expert XTang kindly advised you. Here it is : /forum/viewtopic.php?id=813869
