Hi Angelo,

in the guide I read that you pay 10 to 15 $ for 5 to 7 GB, that is about 2$/GB

and that unitel offers unlimited local calling and 15 GB per month for 50$ , that is more than 3$ / GB

I only need internet data , not calling , what is the best deal in that case ?

I am looking for internet on my Ipad ..

thanks

Hi Phil,

For internet data alone with no calling capability, the price of the data plan at Unitel is 5,000 escudos per month. But the best deal is from CV Telecom. They give unlimted data for 6,000 escudos per month. Data-only service requires a special SIM card. You will need to go into the Unitel or CV Telecom store to obtain the SIM card and activate it.

Hi Phil,

You already asked me this question on the thread, "Advice for people coming or relocating to Cape Verde" and I already replied. Not sure why you are asking it again here especially when it's not the topic of this thread.

Hola Angelo,

I suppose you can get this special simcard on each island ?

how good is coverage on the different islands ?

how many years exist the present internet facilities with 4G ?

Best regards.

Hi everyone,

Am I right in understanding that in Cape Verde the maximum internet speed is not high, 30-40 mbps?

Although a new high-speed line passed through the country in 2021, are there any plans to increase the speed to 1 Gbps?

My company is using StarLink in CV. It's extremely fast but not 100% reliable. I would say it's 95% reliable at its worst. The signal does get slow or completely drop from time to time. But for us 95% is fine. For some businesses and individuals, this may not be acceptable. It may also be a little expensive for the average consumer in CV at €120 per month (most of that is the government fee!).

The local providers of internet service have nothing to worry about as the StarLink price is about 2-3 times as much.

If anyone has any questions on StarLink, let me know via private message.
