Annefrank, I believe the immigration has a record why you were banned. If the hepaB positive is not prohibited anymore in uae, I don't see any reason why your ban is still effective.

And I've read also somewhere in this blog that the effectivity of the ban is only 1 year for hepB.

Let's wait for the final decision of moh. This is still good news since for me because I know that they will change their law. It's better than for them to be silent and do nothing with their present law, and keeps every body hanging on the air.

hi sol123, if I remember it right. there is only one member of this forum applying for a new visa who was cleared and given a medical clearance, you can check djbaldy's post on page 7. he was also into Sales, which is not related to Food handling/Food related Compnay.

Though I'm still having doubt because some of us here who's profession is CPA, Engineer, Accountant were not successful in Medical Exam. I'm not giving you the assurance that since you are also into Sales, you will also be cleared like djbaldy, but all my prayers are with you.

I dont know what to say. I am confused.
If you guys remember i when I was getting y medical done i was told I am HBV + in nov 2009.
Few days back my Liver started making uncomfortable pinches and slight burning.I had doubts so went to hospital today.

I had full doubts it is the HBV , but to my sruprise my blood tests show I am HBV negetive! GONE???? no HBV>????

the screening test show that my liver is in good shape but there is some "echogenicity of the liver parenchyma"

I have been following this blog since the past 2 weeks. I have accepted a job offer and came to Dubai last month with a temporary employment visa (valid for 3 months).

I am a hepatitis B carrier, working as IT professional. I was not aware of the UAE immigration rule towards Hepatitis B carrier because I was an expat in South East Asia for many years, and they are totally fine with this.

I have taken my second blood test, due to my condition. My HR representative told me the result was not good, and not much that we can do about it.

Seems like our office's PRO has never had this issue before too, so he is not aware of what can be done. Is there anything else that I can do? Can someone suggest please?

I am still not too sure why i am having mild liver pain.  My tests say " increased echogenecity of liver parenchyma". HEP B is negetive but , Checking with doctor he said to check for HEP C also. As not sure about the govt mixing up A B C. hmmmm inshallah will update you guys. taking some medicines and trying out some Yoga for now. it is helping in reducing pain.

Just want to remind anyone with any kind of Hepatitis that you should try keeping your liver healthy as Hepatitis means inflammation of the liver. Search on you tube for some Yogas that help the liver. also few natural supplements like
"Milk Thistle (containing Silymarin) " and "Dandelion".

this is out of my research for last few days. just passing on information might help you guys.

HI djbaldy its good to hear that u have cleared hbv but i m bit confused that u didnt tell whether u were chronic career or an acute coz if u were career of hbv than how could it happened as my dr said that it may remain in blood and the acute virus goes away by its own in 6 mnths

since there is no response from vengates i think we should come forward in filing the petetion.it could help the moh in speeding up the decision on the new forthcoming law.i think you should select some posts from this blog also while filing the petetion. for example post of idel on the 10 th page is a good comment.likwise we should select some posts and should attach these posts while filing the petetion.

Hello i've been following this forum since last year. please can you please advice me regarding my husband because abudhabi is hiring him but he is afraid because of his hepa b, there are good company's who wants to hire him but he was hesitant. Please i need advice to what he should do? he is now working for 2 years in dubai and will renew his  visa this coming jan 2011. Is it possible for him to transfer his visa so that he will not apply for new visa? Is abudhabi motorsport a place for him to work because I know its a place where many tourist go when there is a race event.

In filing a petition, I definitely agree with you guys. But first we need to establish good numbers so that the MOH will consider our appeal to amend their law. I am sure that we have good number of expats infected with HBV here in the UAE, and let us not limit the petition for expats only, we can also include others outside the UAE. Our objective is to remove HBV in the list of deportable diseases, this will benefit not only the expats presently residing in the UAE but also those who want to come, live and work here in the UAE. 

Maybe some of us are afraid to join the petition for the fear of losing jobs and be deported, but if we have a good numbers, the we definitely can work on this.

Another option is to file a petition anonymously, I am not sure that it will work. But this will protect the identity of everyone, we can say whatever we want without the risk of untimely deportation/loss of job.  Either way, we need good numbers.

Whatever the outcome of our plans, may God be on our side.

i will suggest Not to repeat test if you are applying for family visa -house wife- please please dont go for it.... Just cancel visa and go to your country

They are repeating test to exclude the error ( false positive) and second test is also positive you will be banned...... But if you are cancelling visa you can come again UAE in visit visa atleast..

hi jill13, I suggest not to accept new offer. Transferring to another company also means New Visa Application, so it's more likely that your husband will not be given medical clearance. It is very risky. Wag nio muna panghinayangan ung mgandang offer, bka masayang lng lahat.

hi, everyone!  i am a newbie here though i read almost all the comments.  i am also inactive carrier for 24 years now..  i have been in dubai for 4 years.. had changed my employer in aug 2008. i am previously holding dubai visa but i am now jafza visa holder.  i am hoping to renew my visa next year without any problem. 

thanks for the posts.. it helped me have hopes to stay longer here in dubai.

just want to share that i had hiv test only when i applied for my visa at sedar hospital in jebel ali.  but effective april 16, 2009 jafza requires everybody to do the medical test in al satwa clinic or al mohaisna medical fitness center only unless you apply for vip which should be done in al safa clinic..

Same story here too. An inactive Hepatitis b carrier who was unaware that he was carrying the virus. Once failing the medical test, is the immigration ban permanent  or one can keep visiting on a visit visa after a while?

Please let everybody know the clinic or hospital where you've done your medical test, and if possible the doctor that gave your approved test.

In this regard, everyone who might do their medical test soon, try to come to this hospital only in order to get a better chance.

so this is means not on case to case basis they consider hepa b to enter uae, cos housewife is not related to any job or whatsoever...it's only a house wife.

hi, betsy!  as i mentioned on my previous post, if your visa is from jafza, you only have to choose between al satwa clinic or al mohaisna medical fitness center as per the memorandum issued by jafza but if you apply for vip, the medical examination should be done in al safa clinic.. this rule took effect last year.  i am sure about this as i am acting as PRO of our company.

i am not aware of dubai medical test.. i can share only for jafza since i am jafza visa holder.

is there anybody here who renewed their visa recently?  just want to make sure if satwa medical clinic is testing hepa b for office staffs.. 

i read on previous posts that office staffs should not be tested for hepb but since there is no consistency on the application of the law here, i am asking..

hi, jill! if your visa will be transferred from jafza to jafza then there is no medical examination required.  but if your current employer decided to cancel your visa and a new visa will be applied by the new employer then you will have to undergo the required medical exam.

it is better to transfer the visa than have it cancelled.

My visa has been rejected even though my industry is far away from Food, Hospital and all those:( And my employer is canceling my temporary working visa. I have to go back to my country (now just waiting for confirmation)

Is there anyone here know which other country has similar restriction as UAE?

On another side note, as a chronic hepatitis B carrier (I have had it for life), I have consulted my doctor again back in my country. There is a cure, but it costs $20,000.

The countries having restrictions are those in Middle East, South Africa, Korea, Malaysia. Australia and NZ evaluate on a case to case basis.So I guess inactive carriers should not be an issue there.

Can you check whether a person can come on a visit visa after some ban period or is it a permanent ban ?

Thank you for the info. I did get a temporary Malaysian visa previously, it was fine. Certain visa does not require blood test.

How about H1B visa in US? I know B1 won't have an issue with hepatitis B carrier, because there's no blood test check.

Regarding the permanent ban, I don't think so. My PRO said that I can still enter here with a short-term visit visa (which I find ridiculous and very much inconsistent).

As example, I interested about work (in engineering area) in Thailand. There is no problem for visa issuing, but it is necessary to get work permit. For this document everybody must take short medical exam, blood test for hepatitis B include. I don’t know about possibility to get there something like Fitness Certificate for healthy carriers.
I think the question about visa and work permit rules in different countries is very actual for members of this forum because too many of us trying to reach UAE residence especially for job. It is very difficult task to come for work to UAE for infected with HepB persons. I think we should look for job in another countries also and it will be better to communicate about the rules of those countries.

I think whether you are in free zone or not in free zone it does not matter, I read the restriction is being imposed to all.

However, another local source told me, it might be different for free zone or non-free zone.
How true is this?

As per my knowledge, they changed the law on April 21, 2008 and was implemented only on July 1, 2008, which makes me confused. Because my medical exam was 2nd week of July 2008 and they issued me the clearance after 3-4days. That is a big question for me until now, I passed the medical exam after the law was implemented despite of being HBV carrier.

what is being tested within free zone and outside freezone is the same however the clinics where you have to do the test is limited in free zone.

This law applies for the entire UAE.  It doesn't matter which emirate, but the rule is the same. All new visa application regardless of profession will be tested for Hepa B.

do you think they will consider your profession? i am a marketing manager and im really afraid of this knd of rules... hoping that it will be changed sooner.. do youi have any idea about the clinic who conduct hepa b screening in al ain? thanks guys..
