GUYS THE GOOD NEWS IS HERE KHALEEJ TIMES FRONT PAGE

Changes in medical fitness testing rules for residency and work permits are expected to be implemented by next month, according to health officials.
The new rules will be applicable at the federal level and are expected to be in place within days. A health ministry official said the changes had been approved but declined to give details.

"The changes have been approved but I cannot say what exactly unless we receive the approved copy of the law," said Dr Mahmoud Fikri, CEO of Health Policies at the Ministry of Health.

"We will issue the details soon," Dr Fikri added.

According to sources, expatriates applying for a new visa or renewing it for residency can expect changes in the rules for Hepatitis B and Syphilis though medical tests for HIV and TB will remain.

Under the current laws, expatriates suffering from infectious disease such as HIV and Hepatitis B are sent back to their home countries immediately.

Those with TB are administered treatment until they are fit and are then deported. Treatment is also provided to those suffer from Syphilis.

Tests for HIV, TB, and Hepatitis B are being carried out for Dh250 while Dh50 each is charged for stool and urine tests.

However, the rules will remain unchanged for people working in certain occupations such as housemaids, clerks, salon and restaurant workers and educators/teachers as they can cause direct spread of disease.

General health screening, including eye and skin tests are also being held as part of occupational health tests.

Similar changes in fitness testing rules had been introduced in mid-2008 but health officials did not agree on a number of points in the approved law such as deportation of expatriates for being infected by Hepatitis B and C.

Inclusion of testing for the disease that infects the liver Hepatitis C was also under debate.

Clarification raksh, the Hep B law has not been passed yet. I just spoke to MOH. They are not sure when this is going to happen. They told me you will see it in the news when it does.

I'm sitting at the edge of my seat for any changes. I need to get back to work, like the rest of you and back to my life.

there is some mistake u r saying thatlaw has not been passed.thats not true in albayan and then yesterdays khaleej times published that new law has been passed but not implemente yet each and every preventive centre is telling the same thing that law has been passed  out but not implemented if the law would not passed then it would not  come in a newspaper yes its true that is is not implemented yet this was told to my husband when he went there so dont be disheart everyone soon it will implement inshallah. no body said that law has not been passed.

stick17

guys please help. should I go to the second test?.. What if I taitfail and they bring my papers straight to the Immigration. I will be banned for sure. Or should I say to the doctor on Al Baraha that I will wait till the new law is passed. by the way my employment visa is till Aug. 8. I am so troubled people. please help me.

perdanasiswa

No doubt that there is a sense of disappointment that the situation remains the same despite all this talk about the change in the rules. When you think about it there is no reason for this delay if indeed the law is passed.

However, considering the news in Al-Bayan and then in Khaleej times and reading between the lines I believe one can identify the missing link and the reason for this delay.

On June 6th, there has been a decision by the cabinet of minister to change the law. Based on this, sources in Ministry of Health provided some hints to Al-Bayan and Khaleej Times. For a cabinet decision to be implemented it has to be processed (filed, distributed, archived etc) by the ministry of Cabinet Affairs. The ministry of cabinet affairs has to officially send the decision in an official communicate to the ministry of health before that the ministry of health could act on it. Just the routine procedure.

The good news is that we know now that the Ministry of Health and doctors at testing centres are anxious to help and hopefully there will be no delay in their part as soon as they receive the official decision.

finder

hi to everyone.
i've been reading the different posts in this forum and it really gives me hope esp about hepa b. I am also a healthy hepa b carrier. I only found this out when i had my med test here last march. My husband is negative. I am under husband's visa but i was not given a residence visa  bcoz of the med test result. I am so happy with the current news that the new rule regarding hepa b will be implemented soon. Right now my problem is overstaying in dubai. I have overstayed for a couple of months already knowing the implication of suffering from paying fine to the immigration which  i do not know exactly how much is the fine per day. We're planning to go back home next month. Can anyone give me an advice to my situation. Can my husband get me another residence visa?
Thank you very much.

Stresswife

finder

which visa are you on that u overstayed????  i think it was a visit visa, bcz if it wz residence u wld go for  a renewal and u wouldnot hv a prob.... u have to wait for d new law if urs is a new visa.....renewal is not a prob....

Aya1976

Hi Stiff,

expired visit visa penalty is 100dhs/day but 200dhs on first day. If your expired visa is employment the amount of penalty is 10dhs/day.

Winstar,

as per this link ww.dxnphil.com/testimonials/health02.php he took 30 pairs/day. and if we will attend to their seminar they said that there is no overdose with these food supplement.

Just want to ask how many pairs/day you take in RG/RL. Did you took spirulina and roselle juice. These three should be taken for Hep B cases. aside from that have you completely avoid eating fatty foods (eat only easily digested foods) and have a balance diet. avoid strenuous work also.

Hope you will share to me how you take the RG/GL. You can answer to my email aya_tar@yahoo.com for some member of this forum don't want to tackle regarding medication. I am interested because after my visa will be approve i'm planning to start taking the RG/GL for my medication.

Thank you in advance.

Hoping everybody will stay calm for we all know that we have to avoid stress in our cases.

GOD BLESS US....

hi finder
i want to ask that when u went for test what did they tell u about implementing they told u the duration  or something?coz as asmaali said to wait for couple of month that means after  ramzan period coz as i know they do not work during ramzan and summer holidays are also going on may b the officials  must have gone somewhere that is whay they are taking so much of time and asma told us to wait for 2 months in her reply.

Guest7967

Do not be disappointed.Only the thing have to do is to pray for good. For more hopes read only one line from the news which published in khaleej times. Then you all will be more hopeful.I think this will happend in july (Insha Allah).

30 June 2010 DUBAI — Changes in medical fitness testing rules for residency and work permits are expected to be implemented by next month, according to health officials.

Dear Finder,

I really appreciate your help. I appologize on being so nosy. It's just that 1.My boss wants me get my drivers license done (he provide me with personal driver till my driver's license is done which is company cost). 2. I stay in the hotel till July 9th and after that I have to rent a flat in which I have to pay by issuing checks from a bank. Both requires residence visa to be processed.

I am just felt embarass with my employer that they spend so much for me then in the end (should there will be no change till Aug.8) I will be deported.

I am thinking that I should go to the hospital then find somebody to talk to if there is something that i can do to pass, since the law is about to change. I just do not know the process on the second test. Am I able to have a chance to talk with any doctor or they will just proceed with the second test.

I hope what I have written make sense and I the informations I read from this blog really helped me to be strong and brave to face whatever is destined for me.

stiff

hello everyone,

My visa is not a visit visa.
What was written in my visa ( pink paper )when i went here was residence because i was sponsored by my husband. I was supposed to stay here in dubai for 2 months and it will expire unless my passport will be stamped with residence visa which is good for 3 years. Unfortunately i did not pass the med test so my passport was not stamped. I've already overstayed for couple of months. When we went to immigration last april, a man said that i will pay AED 10 everyday but when we ask someone in the typing, he said AED 25.

We are planning to go home next month so we are preparing for the payment of the fine. We are praying that the new law about HBV will be implemented soon.

If ever the law will be implemented this month, can we just pay the fine and will they stamp my passport with residence visa?

Thank you very much. Your response will be much appreciated.

Hi Aya1976,

How about your case, i thought u ever mentioned that your visa will xpired on 2nd July'10, so is there any upadated news regarding ur visa n medical.

Cheers

Aya1976

Shoegal,

July 3 is my first day of being "kaliwali" here in dubai. I am waiting for the implementation of new rule then I will take my medical. Stiff and me are same situation right now.

As of now, I am positive that the new rule will be implemented this month because as I observed to the officials of Al Baraha they are really positive that the rule will be implemented.

One good thing is that my employer is suppoting me. They know everything that's why I have peace of mind right now. I don't need to hide anything from them.

Keep on praying everyone for God is always there to give solution to our problems.

But I heard the company and sponsor will be put in the black list of computer system if any staff whom belongs to the company not taking medical check up within 60 days since entry of UAE,is it right?

Aya, what about your company and sponsor?

shoegal

Dear Aya,

So r u overstayed now until new rules implemented ?
How sure you think the rules will be changed, some people said it'll change within this month some people even journalist who wrote the article in KJ also mentioned to wait at least 2 months.

I really hope the rule will implemented by this month, cos it will make a lot of change in our life.

Cheers,

stick17

Hi as read from the previous post asma (KJ times correspondent) quoted "I am trying to get in touch with
officials regarding the issue. I have been told that the law has been passed but medical centres have not yet been informed about it. I suggest that you wait a couple of months max more for the issue to take shape since this is summer time. I will also be doing a story in this regard soon."
this was posted by anmari9 last June 26

The khaleej time issue was June 30 where he wrote "Changes in medical fitness testing rules for residency and work permits are expected to be implemented by next month, according to health officials.
The new rules will be applicable at the federal level and are expected to be in place within days. A health ministry official said the changes had been approved but declined to give details."

Base from these, the couple of months response came prior to his article from khaleej times. Meaning the "within days"response is much recent. Not unless he did not visit on June 27 till June 29th...

what do you think?
