im happy for those who are renewing their visa, the new rule hands out a relief for all thestress you'regoing through . but unfortunately new applicants are still screened. for those of us who were sent home due to the "sickness" i guess the story is same, we could not go back in . hope all will be cleared up the soonest. false hope and anticipation is far worse than accepting facts and truth.
I am planning to work in abu dhabi uae but my problem is i have the hepatitis c anti bodies but negative in hcv rna testing. my question is do they screen for hepatitis c if in case i will be given a a working permit? anyone can answer me
HCV is not included in the visa screening for new and renewal cases as well.So you will get the fitness certificate inshallah.
so they did not ammend the rule. its still the same? they will not grant visa for HBV new comer. what did they ammend here ? they are already giving clearance even before for the renewal with hep b cases.
what about those who wants to change their jobs. Are they consider newcomer?????
@Concern,Who is telling visa is not granted for newcomer....
Read below extract from alkhaleej

HBV Screening is limited only to six categories of people as mentioned in the newspaper( nannies, domestic servants,drivers..)either for new visa or renewal.
Hi everyone
My question is when is this going to be adopted?
I have joined this website because of the numerous contributions that you guys are making to this forum almost every single minute.
Here is the news of the new rule as published in Gulfnews today:
Duba: Resident expatriates will no longer have to undergo tests for hepatitis B, a blood-borne disease and tuberculosis, for renewal of their residency visas, the Ministry of Health has announced.
Only six categories of workers will be tested for hepatitis B and if confirmed positive will not be deported but will have to undergo treatment. The six categories of workers are nannies, housemaids, nursery and kindergarten supervisors, beauticians and barbers, health club workers, and food handlers.
The hepatitis C test, another disease of the liver, has been cancelled. This disease usually spreads through contact with infected blood.
The other main medical test for tuberculosis will now be carried out only for new arrivals and will only be done for pulmonary TB.
Maids, nannies and women drivers will now have to undergo a pregnancy test and it is left to the sponsor to allow the applicant to work if found pregnant.
Syphilis is another disease for which those tested positive will not be deported. The six categories of workers will be tested either at the time of issuing a new visa or during visa renewal.
The new rules will go into effect a day after they are published in the Official Gazette. Ministry of Health officials did not specify the date.
As I understand HBV was not tested for VISA renewal previously also and it does not say anything about new VISA rules. Is no change to be expected there?
It's getting more and more confusing and irritating now.
Thax So much Ourday yes ourday i can see Glorry be to the mosthigh keep faith brothers and sisters all gona be well soon.
You can more information about the Official Gazette on this page. Normally its published on a monthly basis. I am not sure when the last gazette was published. If we know the date, that might give us the possible date when the new law will be implemented (as per gulfnews)
This mean they will check only 6 categories both new and renew only , my understanding is correct?

....attached is part of the translated page. Funny how it could be a bit ambiguous to mean two things....
a) limited medical screening of newcomers to the state for work or residence....and upon renewal only on the six categories
b) limited medical screening of newcomers to the state for work or residence and upon the renewal of residence ...all only on the six categories
I'll be waiting then for more info from brethren in this forum. Please continue to post your experiences on your medical test post announcement date...
Thanks
Allright Everyone what about the deported brothers and sisters are they going to be allowed to re-enter UAE?
Henrydets,
Concerning return of the deported, I think that depends on your employer. You may wish to inform them about the new law, and and possibly request their consideration, since that was the major or rather only reason for the deportation.
Is it employer or health ministry and immigration dpt i should ask.
Gents,
For the interest of all, I strongly suggest that all concerned seek the services of a legal practitioner (Lawyer) resident in UAE, for better interpretation of this law. I can already foresee the different views/interpretations, which, to a very large extent, tends towards sentiments. This could be dangerous and disappointing
