Mandatory Reporting Requirements

Post new topic

Dwyer

Hi, I am in Thailand on a "1Yr O-A Retirement Visa." I want to ensure I comply with ALL mandatory reporting requirements. I believe with this Visa, I still need to report every 90 days to the local Police Station - Correct?

ANY other REPORTING things, I MUST do pls?

Have seen “Thai Police Clearance Certificate for Foreigners” but I did a full Criminal DBS check to get my Visa, so I am guessing I do not need to do this? Correct?

Also; if I travel outside Krabi Province, do  I have to register that fact with anybody?

Thanks in advance, Craig

You can do your 90 day report on line at
Provided that you have done at least one at your local immigration office

Not the police Immigration Department every 90 days

Different Thai Diplomatic offices have different interpretations. this is the one from Canada:

Technically there are three types of reporting:

(a) Interim - every 90 days;

(b) Annual - for renewal; and

(c) Exit/Re-entry.

For the 90-days one, you need to report to the nearest Immigration Office, only if there is not one around your vicinity, you can report to the Police. There is also a mail-in option, but I am not sure if it is reliable.

By the way, your cost of living may increase due to the evaluation of the Baht, almost 10% since the beginning of last year.

Take care and with best wishes.

Check with your local immigration office to be sure you can do the online 90-day registration. It is known to not work properly. If that is the case you will be fined for not register for 90 days even if it is the app's fault. Happened to me once.

I just registered my wife and I yesterday at the Visa and Work Permit One Stop Service Center Bangkok.

Gave them the below:
1. Passport
2. Signed copy of Passport
3. Signed copy of the visa stamp and the T.M.6 departure card (front and back)
4. Filled out T.M 47 form (which they had plenty of copies at the office)
5. Signed copy of my last 90 day registration receipt

You can download the T.M. 47 here:

Showed up at 7:30, they took the docs at the information counter, handed me a receipt to collect @ 9:30.
Looked at all my docs (but gave me back all the copies) and no charge for the above.
Tried online, but the site would not work in any browser I used.

Location is:

There is a Tesco Supermarket downstairs and to while away your wait, also it is at an MRT stop.

Yes you have to report every 90 days. No not at your local police station. You must go to an immigration office. You will also have to renew your visa yearly. In the beginning you will run into problems with filling out the correct forms and providing the proper sized photographs for visa renewal. Many ex=pats hire firms specializing in helping Farangs with immigration problems. They aren't cheap but they are efficient and convenient.

If I have a Retirement Visa , what is the process if I need to leave Thailand for any reason , let’s say 8 weeks to return to U.K. for a family emergency ?

Do I still need to go to Immigration for the 90 day visit or will the new stamp in my passport upon my return negate the need for this ?

Additionally , can someone clarify EXACTLY what the legal position is for Retirement Visa . Is it retired in Thailand ie not performing any work or being paid any salary , wage etc in Thailand OR is it completely retired from work any place in the world ?

Thanks
