Regardless of political interests, the UK government is making a pig's ear of everything related to covid.

They're spending so much time and effort with privacy concerns, they haven't got a hope of making anything useful.

Don't hold your breath for that lot, and hope the other lot don't find their way into government because they're just as rubbish - maybe worse.

Hang around in Malaysia - No winter, lovely food, and the politicians aren't even close to as rubbish :D

regardless of your opinion , that is over 10% of the population having their first injection is less than a month . Whether or not the vaccine will work is another matter. The only reason i am taking the vaccine is that will be the only way that you will be able to travel in the future .

Yes I heard that around 10% of the British population has already had their first injection. Seems to be moving at a fast pace. On the down side, the cases of Covid seem to be get worse if I'm not mistaken. It will be good once everyone is vaccinated and people can begin to travel again.

As of 8 minutes ago (posting time) a little over 7 million UK residents had received their first vaccination.
However, that doesn't mean the UK government will manage a covid passport.

jonbalion

they have given 3 agencies grants to come up with some kind of passport. One has put forward a app that you can have on your phone showing that you have been vaccinated.

Aargh... Covid go away!  Only yesterday I attended my aunt's virtual funeral, held in Los Angels.  she is my third family member struck by Covid already (2 in L.A, 1 in London).  Stay safe everybody, wherever you go.

Hey Jon, the first batch of vaccines from Pfizer (1 million doses) is scheduled to arrive by end February 2021.

jonbalion

i understand that this pandemic is under some sort of control in Malaysia but this vaccine should be done now . One million doses by the end of the month is too lax, that will only cover 500000 people, we have the vaccine here but in january over 20000 people died and even now it is 500+ per day.

You dont know what you are talking about Fred. The UK government was
one of the first to invest in Vaccine research which is why the Oxford AstraZeneca vaccine has now inocculated more  of its population than any other single Country. The lockdown policy hasnt always been best managed but no Country has got it right

Airlines (and some govts) are trying to force people into the vaccine against their will but to-date, the only actual requirement is either the shot or a test before flying. As of now, I would opt for the test and do best to stay uninfected. And if, for example, Im making this up, if an airline required the full white lab suit in lieu of the vaccine, I would do that. I might even suggest it.

Aside from medicine already available but not widely used, both Israel and UK are coming out with nasal sprays which block covid. Airlines are not scientists and should be constantly looking for vaccine alternatives. Its an absurd proposition that a transport company should force a measure that can be life-changing and even kill you.

PETALING JAYA: The Cabinet has agreed that the Covid-19 vaccination programme to begin at the end of this month will be given freely to non-citizens residing in Malaysia, but Malaysians will remain top priority, says the Special Committee on Ensuring Access to Covid-19 Vaccine Supply.

In a joint statement issued by the ministries of Health and Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) Thursday (Feb 11), the Special Committee said that this was decided by the ministers at a Cabinet meeting Wednesday (Feb 10) as it was not only the humane thing to do but also practical in efforts to reach herd community.

Malaysian citizens, however, will be the first in line and prioritised before foreigners residing in Malaysia will be allowed access to the programme.
