Where to find cheap size 13 - 14 shoes?

Post new topic

Hi everyone,

My name is Luke. I have been living here in Manila for the past two years with some friends of mine.

Recently, one of my friend's pair of sneakers started to fall apart. They are the only shoes he has aside from some flip flops, so it is pretty important that we replace them.
We are on a pretty tight budget so we have been trying to find him shoes at some of the street markets, as opposed to going to the malls.

The issue is that he wears a size 13 or 14 in U.S. sizes. That is about a size 47 in EU sizes. We can only seem to find up to EU size 45 in the street markets

Has anybody had any luck finding shoes of that size for cheap in the street markets in Manila?
Any leads or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely, Luke

I sympathize with you, I wear a 10 1/2,  my preferred shoe/sneaker is "New Balance". I went to Green Hills Mall, a place for shoes, clothing and electronics. Good Prices but much of them counterfeit. .

A could not find any New Balance or any shoes larger the 8 1/2. Then I went shopping in a mall department store and they had a similar shoe called "World Balance", I didn't bother.

A month or two my son came home with a 10 1/2 "New Balance", not particularly a style I would choose, I think he paid $80 USD. I prize these shoes so much I've only had them on three times in three years.

I had trouble finding clothing that fits me, when I ordered xxl boxers from Shoppee they were way too little. So I now order Hanes Boxers from their on line store (states) and have them shipped to the Philippines. I also order for my two stepsons and daughter-in law.  Keeping the order under 10,000 PHP. I have it send to my re-mailer, I think the cost was $104 for FedEx delivery.

Also I had a hard time finding slacks in the states that would fit me without alterations. I found a Tailor here in Manila that made me three pairs of custom slacks for about $100 USD total.

Luke-Have you tried online? I just googled "online shoe outlets in Philippines" and came up with about 1o outlets. I checked Lazada who I buy my vitamins from and their shoes go up to EU 45. Try the others and I think you may find something to your liking. The prices are always pretty good but there is a delivery charge. Lazada accepts COD. I dont know about the others............JIMMY

I don't know about you but I prefer to try on the shoes before I buy them. In the states I would visit the "New Balance" shoe store (Outlet Mall) and select several pairs of shoes, try them on and then make my selection.

I've purchased many things on Shopee some on Lazada, but apparel & shoes I prefer in person. Especially if I'm not familiar with the manufacture or quality.

Go to the Green Hills Mall, buy a pair of Nikes for $20 and for $5 more they will throw in a Rolex Watch.

Counterfeits are a major problem, even for Amazon. Amazon delisted over 10 million listings and has 10,000 employees assigned to catching counterfeit sellers.

Well to me  living in the Philippines is a bit like living in the twilight zone I guess. We just dont have all  the luxuries of the good ole USA! Fine with me! Easy to improvise. Have some shoes tailor made. That's pretty good advice!......JIMMY

I ended up finding some on Lazada. We will test them out when they arrive. I don't expect them to be the best quality, but hopefully they will hold up for my friend's purposes.

Thanks for the advice and suggestions everyone,

Luke

I would be shocked if they are the right size. 11 US is about the biggest I've seen. Be sure you do COD and try them on before you pay. Good luck with that.

And if everything else fails you can always visit one of the numerous "ukay ukay" shops...lots of preloved/well maintained stuff including CHEAP extra large shoes.

If you could find size 13-14 shoes in a Ukay Ukay shop, you would be walking in some dead Expats shoes.

Famous quote: "Try walking a mile in someones else's shoes" ( size 13-14) This could be the reason they are in a Ukay Ukay shop.

I have been using Lazada many years. Only a few complaints with being delivered the wrong item or problem with their "wallet" usage. Not a big  thing! I heard the Lazada based in LA California is a night mare!
