Application submission date:23rd August
Work Permit approval date: 27th october
Single permit approval date:19th november

region:flanders
Situation:Already working in Belgium,change of employer

Commune : Issued Anex 49 upon submitting work permit approval document and Anex 46.

Finally ready to work!!

I heard that you can start working from the date your work permit got approved if you have valid residence permit. Why you waited till single permit approval to start working. Was your residence permit was also expired?

The annex 49 is not an urgent step to be able to work right. My employer told me I can come, stay with a friend and register with commune after I have found a place within 90 days. The 8 day rule they said is not implemented and is just a really old legislation. So, I am asking if there are any issues if I register late with the commune for annex 49?

Please read old comments to understand the timeline. It鈥檚 going the take a long time for you. 11 weeks Flanders for work permit only and then 3-5 weeks for the residence part聽 (Annex 46) of single permit.

Still nothing from my side and buy tomorrow I'll have entered 6th week between the work permit and single permit!!! Btw I have seen many people receive the single permit on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday but never on other days.

My residence permit is valid.

My employer was also confused with this and spoke with the authorities and they told them that I cannot start working unless Anex 49 is Issued.

They mentioned the current residence permit is authorized for previous employer and inorder to start with new employer I had to get a new anex 49.

Work authorization: Is there an email sent to employees after the application is approved?聽 Still have to wait until Single Permitis is down to send emails together?

Work authorization email is sent to employer.We should ask them to forward the documents to present it at the commune.

Once single permit is approved ,employer and the commune gets an email.

Earlier in 2019 and early 2020 employee used to get an email,now not any more.

According to the information I received for my personal case. If you are already residing in Belgium and were previously employed (Meaning that you already have a Belgian Residence ID, etc). You can start working with the work permit, while you wait for Annex 46 to be issued.

The person in this thread above got it before you 3.2 weeks, but he was already in BE. Maybe you could ask your employer to contact the authorities because it has really been a long time in your case.
I got my permit on Nov 17, so I have a long wait ahead of me.

Yes It depends from case to case I assume.Please ask your employer to contact authorties so that you have a proof of agreement in your case.

Yes, they confirmed I can work as I arrive in BE, after receiving annex 46 and before starting the process of registration at commune/ applying for annex 49. - the usual case of newcomers.

I applied in august. I got work permit after 6 weeks but still no single permit. My employer told me may be this week i can get but i am not sure.聽

Work permit on September 13
Waiting for single permit or residence permit.
For me its more than 3 months.聽

I recived work permit 3rd November still waiting for single permit.

Region Flanders or Brussels? You should check with the authorities via email to immigration. or ask your emp to check because people have gotten it before you.

Yes its brussels region and i asked my emp for upadte but he told me within this week may be i can get but still not sure. I dont know why.

Is it due to the rising COVID situation that the single permit's are delayed? Anyone has any idea on this? I see in the website that there are restrictions for the travel due to rising covid

I just came across聽 link " provide at the immigration website for travel restrictions and exemptions due to covid. Can any shed some light if this could be the reason for the delay in the issue of single permit! Sounds logical for me. Expert opinion please.

yeah may be for work authorizations recieved prior to Oct 28th. Post Oct 28th whoever have recieved work permit havent got the single permit(atleast when I observe from the timeline in this forum), those who have received single permit are either changing their employer or leaving in belgium.
