@Julien

hi everyone, I’m Sarah, I lived in Germany for 11 years from 1993.  I am now living back in the UK again and miss the German lifestyle, food and my friends!

I am hoping to move back again with my fiancé. We both have job offers so we are currently getting prepared to go through the visa application process.

Hope to be back soon!

Welcome. It is not time effective for one to simply "give hints" without any context. Read through the site and when you have specific questions then just ask.

@koteysandra3 Welcome to the forum!

What do you want to study and at which university or school?

Tom_hoj

Hi everyone!

I'm an American college graduate (25M) and just moved to Saarlouis/Saarbrucken in Saarland. I'm looking to connect with other Americans to find my tribe here and look for work. Hopefully looking to eventually relocate to Berlin or Koln once I find work and build some savings. Drop a comment if you're in the area! 1f603.svg

@Julien

Hi Julien,

I am a Bangladeshi woman, with a child of 7 years. Recently I got a Schengen visa and I would like to come to Germany.

I would appreciate it very much if you would please give me some tips on how to move forward. My son is a Dutch citizen and I intend to get an EU family permit as a family member of my son.

If you have some information as to how to proceed further, please let me know.

Thanking you,

Dina

@principalzafer A Schengen visa is a short visit (tourist) visa and, as far as I know, cannot be converted to a (long-term) residence visa within the EU. You need to apply for the correct (long-term) visa type before travelling, if you intend to stay longer than 90 days.

As caregiver of a minor Dutch citizen, you may be eligible for a residence visa in that country, but not in Germany. So I recommend you post on the appropriate country forum or contact the embassy.

(The situation might be different if your kid is already staying in Germany (e.g. with the father) and you join him.)

Julien
