Sending money back home

Carlos C

Hi Folks,
Do someone know if an expat in Angola has any restrictions in sending money to his home country?
Thanks in advance for any feedback!

Regards
Carlos

Yes you can send up to $5000 per day from any of the local bank, but there is a tax of about $300 per such transaction, just ask at the bank you use before sending what the limit is and the tax amount, it takes between 3 - 5 days to see the money in your bank account in another country, you can also take cash in USD through the airport with a limit of about $15000, but there are allot of cases where this money has been confiscated by the airport officials or you can be robbed once in the other country because of criminals, so not ideal, rather use the local banks.
