Hi Nadia,

Most of the neighborhoods in Rabat are very close to the water. Some beaches are more desirable than others depending on what kind of activities you have in mind (walking, swimming, or surfing). The nicer beaches are in the coastal towns south of Rabat.

I suggest living either downtown rabat (centre ville) or agdal as they will be the most convenient to get to your school. There is a light rail or tram that connects the two to your school.

Downtown is older and has more history. The beach is about a 10-15 minutes walk through the old part of town (Medina). I personally recommend downtown but that’s where I live so I could be biased.

Agdal is a newer neighborhood with more mainstream shops and restaurants. Access to the beach is not within walking distance but very accessible through a short taxi drive.

You can’t go wrong with either of them. Especially for an easy commute to school. They also both have train stations if you were looking to visit other cities in Morocco.
