Hi board-members,

I'm Jeff from Brighton, new to the board and hoping to relocate to Bangalore by the end of the year.

I was wondering if anyone can give me any advice on housing, work and immigration.

One tip for housing is check which type of visa you are obtaining. Since you have asked for work advice, I am assuming you are going to have a working visa? You'll have to register with the police commissioner's office upon arrival, with your address, and after any move you make you must alert the police commissioner's.
As far as immigration, remember that when you leave the country you cannot take more than 10,000 rupees with you and also that you have to pay a fee upon leaving the country in cash.
