Is It Safe to Drive at Malaysia's Freeways?

valerriew

Me and my hubby loves photography and Malaysia's culture very much. We were planning to drive from KL to East Coast of peninsular Malaysia to experience more local culture and enjoy the sandy beaches there. Anyone has any experience to share with driving across Malaysia's Freeways?

You should not have any problem driving Malaysian freeways, but two pointers:

If its raining (hard) consider pulling over as drivers here sometimes are bit too overconfident (like many places)

Ensure you have a good roadside assistance coverage and take at least two SIM cards (different carriers) to double odds of coverage.

As far as I'm concerned, roads are safe and well-built as well. However, one thing can spoil your trip- forgetting your GPS/Garmin.

Wish you pleasant trips!
