I suggest you post this blog on Scotland Forum also.

There are loads of Pakistanis in Aberdeen, you will meet them at all mosques and asian supermarkets ( called Paki shops). There are lots of post graduate students and professors at Aberdeen University and affiliated colleges.

Tableegi Jamat is very active in Aberdeen you may want to associate with, depending on your religious inclinations.  Do not worry, just move there, you will feel at home.
