Things to see in Cebu City

JMF_76

Hi everyone,

I am considering retiring to this fascinating country and am in Cebu City for today anf tomorrow morning. Any suggestions as to what I should go to see to help me decide which city/area to choose?

Much appreciate the help!

Mark.

I know it is late now since you said you were only in Cebu for 2 days but all I could suggest in such a short period of time would have been to see if you can check out the Cebu IT Park Area and maybe see if you can have a look around one of the Condos and see if you can find any Ex Pats around to get their advice. That is if Cebu is or could be of interest to you for a retirement city. Booking cheap Air B & B's and looking around the area seems to be what many do before they commit.

From what I have seen from the many vloggers and watching their videos, I think you need to do some research online, maybe narrow your selection down to 3 or 4 places, go to the Philippines for an extended length of time and check each of them out.

Good luck.

If your Filipina Cupid connection is to in Manila,  are you also gonna take a look at Luzon?

Haha P1.. but seriously, one needs more than a day or two in Cebu City. There is a lot to see in town and I always recommend a trip across the island on the Trans-Central Highway - the views are spectacular. Great on a motorcycle.

Baugio, where the weather was the only redeeming thing. BGC. Great, but $$$? Didn't make it to Tagaytay, where it's a bit cooler but the medical care?  Looked briefly at  Makati. Promising, but not enough of a look.

Baguio has a great mall with the best bookstore on Luzon.
