Hi There,

I'm thinking of moving to Colombo to start a chain of Opticians. Please, if someone can assist me with the following:

-Market- if there is currently a demand and if people will pay for service be making it a priority.
General requirements.
-Licensing.
-Average cost of glasses/contact lenses.
-Average cost of leasing commercial space.
-Any additional information that would help.

Hi UltimOpp,

If you are setting up your own manufacturing unit with an investment of $400,000.00 (50 million rupees or more) over a period of one year. I suggest registration under section 17 of BoI Law.
Please note that you cannot own a retailing company in Sri Lanka (It is restricted under the exchange control act.)

Hi,

On going commercial rates for show rooms in Colombo prime locations cost you around Rs 150 - 300 per sq ft, Office space
ranging around Rs 100 - 200 per sq ft.聽 Ex Locations Colombo 2,3,4,5,7.
