Fake products in VN

Dannyroc3

The subject of fake products is something I run into a lot.

My GF swears everything from cosmetics to Hershey bars are fake.

I was thinking of buying a Bluetooth speaker. but wonder if they are just copies.

When I look on Lazada, for a MArshall BT speaker, the same model can be 600k by one seller and the expected price of 6 mil. from others, so obviously, somethings going on.

A local teen girl has extensive acne so I thought I might buy her a few products designed for that but

again, are these Cera ve type products fake or legit?

And even if they are copies, are they junk  or worse) or just a generic with a fake label?

As far as the cleaner for acne, I am told it needs to have Benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid, is it possible a regional product would have a version of this?

A good, trustworthy cosmetics & accessories chain in Vietnam is "Guardian" stores.

Prices are reasonable and products are genuine.

If you can't find a nearby local store via Google Maps, you can order from them online at guardianDOTcomDOTvn

I just ran into this exact thing. My favorite headphones are the Sony XB-400 which I was able to buy directly from the sony store in District 1 HCMC. They recently discontinued and I needed a new pair so I ordered online. Full price and the add said 100% authentic showing sony certifications etc. Needless to say when I got it they were 100% fake and I returned. I lost some money but was at least able to get some refund.   It was such a good fake too. It looked so identical. The only tell was the sound quality and the weird voice with a weird accent.

100% fake. If you can, buy from a marshall store/reseller.

Lazada ncludes some alternative items to fish you with lower prices. For example you can see a bicycle for 100k, you enter to the item and you will see only the gloves for that price and the bicycle for 3M. Dont buy medicine or vitamines in Lazada/Shopee nor in sidewalks...Even a Colgate thootpaste is risky to be fake....Better go CoopMart, Guardian or Pharmacity

Absolutely can be fake. Heck, I've even developed an eye for spotting fake BIC lighters (BIC logo wrong position, flame is retarded), OTC medications (spelling/syntax errors on insert info), Doc Marten's Boots/Shoes (convincing, but don't stand the wear and tear of originals), American cigarettes (esp. Marlboro), and on and on and...

I suspect that even at 6mil that they're fake. I've seen, repaired, and torn apart a few "Marshall BT Speakers" here in VN, and I can assure you that they most certainly weren't Marshall's. That's not to say that you can't get at higher prices, of course. (I'm not vouching for the authenticity of any items in that link)

If me, I'd take the young lady to a hospital/clinic, see a doctor and have the doctor perform an examination and write a prescription. It's incredibly inexpensive for VN citizens.

Both are available here, but I would caution you against trying either. Is the acne due to bacterial infection? Fungal? Dietary? You don't want to apply something which worsens her condition, or heaven forbid, scars her. See a doctor, Danny.

I ran into the this same situation when living in another country where the daughter of someone in the acquaintance circle had terrible acne. In that case I did not know how to approach the issue without possibly hurting feelings so I kept quiet. In the same city, I was in the market and a lady of maybe 45 had a large swollen area on the side of her face and I wont try to guess what it was but again, I wish I had a way to pay for the removal of that growth but I had no ability to tactfully approach and offer help. And of course the interaction happened so fast.Â
