Hi, my friend is vietnamese in the UK on a spouse visa. Her mother incorrectly registered her DOB so she could start school earlier( in the 1990s) she celebrates her birthday on the day she was born and this has been posted on social media.She going through civil court and the other party will bring up the DOB to discredit the mother. Is it illegal/ criminal to falsify a birth certificate in Vietnam. Thanks

Yes, of course, it's illegal. As you mentioned, her mother mistakenly registered her date of birth, but everyone still remembers to celebrate on the correct day. If it was truly a mistake, there has been plenty of time to correct it. Let鈥檚 be honest, it鈥檚 only fair to address this properly.
