Updated BE Driving license rule - First aid + RPT in English

LSDS

Hi,

As per the new Driving rules in Belgium(Brussels):
1. First Aid training course is mandatory(90 mins Online + 3hrs Practical)

2. Risk perception Test

Both the above tests are mandatory prior to the final Practical Driving exam.
However, there is no guideline or detail on taking this exam for a non NL or FR speaker .
Does anyone here have experience recently with taking the two exams above in English perhaps or with the use of a translator? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi,

I am trying to book the slots online for the theory exams but even I do not see any option for translators.

I visited the autoecole office @ schaerbeek to inquire about translators but due to covid they are not allowing people inside the office premises.

So, even I am looking for info about translators during the theory exams.

Hello,

By appointment only, you can take the exam in English at these two centers.

Hello Phepiemar,

Thanks for the links.
Do you also have the link to book the theory test in Brussels.
I am trying to book the theory test with 'https://examen.autocontrole.be/Examen/' but I do not see any options for the English translator.

Even their number is defunct and I am not getting any info if I will get a translator or not if I book any available slots.

What can be done in this case ?

Regards,
Dj.

You can also check for lessons and practice tests (paid).

Hello,

I recently did the theory test in English in Brussels. You can book it for a later date at the driving test centre at Rue Colonel Bourg 118, 1140 Schaerbeek and it cost €50 for the translator. On the day, the translator meets you with a group of English speakers. You go to a room with laptops and the translator translates the questions and answers to English. I found the translator excellent. There are several English language books available to study the rules, but I found the one I purchased very poor so I wouldn't recommend it. Once you pass , the translator provided us with his card in case we want to book him or a colleague for the risk perception or driving exam. Good luck!

Hi Olivia,

Did you call them to make the appointment?
I can't see any option for LicenseB theory test on their website. It's sort of greyed out.

Also what is the lead time of the theory exam schedule they give?

Hello GuestPoster678,

How did you book the services of translator for the theory test as on the website of auto-control, it doesn't give an option of booking a translator for the exam while booking the appointment for the exam?

AlexFromBelgium

You've to call them and explain you'll need a translator.
You can no longer come with a sworn translator of your choice, as every center is working with official translators now.

Hello Everyone,

I have been trying to explore the Red Cross website in order to register for the First aid training since it is now required for the people who will take the driving license exam in Brussels.

But the website says that it is only possible in Dutch or French

Is there anyone who recently completed their first aid training and was able to do it in English

The link to register for the theory of First aid at the Red Cross website does not even work and throws a (404 Not found) error.

Please help me and guide me as necessary in this regards

With Best Regards

@ARMaliq  Hi,

first aid course will be available only in french or dutch. I took the class in french. Fellow attendees will help you out if you cant understand.

for the first 2-3 hours of theory you have to create a login in the red cross and then register for the driving license first aid course. After completing that only you will get the link for booking the practical session with them. Post this session they will issue a certificate valid for 2 years.
