@Anniewenden A friend of mine recommended this teacher. It's a BG site so prices are better.

I have a teaching friend in Plovdiv who does both face-to-face and online lessons and comes highly recommended. He's Bulgarian, but spent many years teaching in the UK, so he teaches Bulgarian to foreigners and English to Bulgarians. He's currently teaching our Plovdiv friends (group lesson for a couple at his home), and my dad's carer (common and care-related English phrases using phonetic Bulgarian at my dad's place). His rate is around 50 lv/hour, happy to share his contact info if you message me.

You can try the online Bulgarian class in University College London.

I have studied there till now for 6 months. 2 hours per lesson per week, 10 lessons for 1 semester (£310, so it is £31 per lesson in group, not 1-on-1 or face to face). 3 semesters (£861) in 1 academic year starting from Oct till June. I am still struggling unfortunately.

I must say that the class is quite intensive and they expect you to be able to reach A2 level within 1 year after 30 lessons. The class size is maximum at 15 people all over the world and there are altogether 3 different classes for a total intake 45 people.

If you speak Russian/Ukrainian, Bulgarian is easy for you because you already know the Cyrillic alphabets and pronounce the words. And the grammars are similar.

If you speak Serbian/Croatian/Romanian, Bulgarian is not difficult for you because the words may be familiar or similar in that region/culture.

If you speak German, Bulgarian grammar is not difficult at all for you. You can handle the gender words/pronouns easily.

If you speak English & French, you have slight advantage to learn Bulgarian but not easy because lots of the Bulgarian words were borrowed from English or French. And the verb conjugations of Bulgarian is somewhat similar to French.
