Filipino Expats in Norway: How to get OEC

chandlertimmdoloriel

This is for Filipino expatriates in Norway who are directly hired. How did you manage to obtain the OEC in Norway?I currently possess an OEC from Singapore, but upon arriving in Norway with a skilled worker permit, I will need to have my contracts verified again at the Philippine embassy and then obtain an OEC. One thing I've noticed is that the process of obtaining an OEC in Norway seems quite different from the process in Singapore. According to the website: the following steps are required:Both my employer (HR) and I need to be present at the embassy for contract verification. The employment contract will be signed by my employer (HR) and me only in the presence of embassy officers. My employer guarantees my repatriation. When I obtained my OEC in Singapore, it was less of a hassle. I simply submitted the contract along with other standard documents, and then it was stamped as verified. How did you navigate this process?

To future readers: As I've researched, I have to notarize and get an apostille of the work contract before sending it to Philippine embassy in Oslo. For the repatriation requirement, I guess being a member of the national insurance scheme would suffice, just need for the employer to sign a document validating the coverage and stating that the burial and life benefit could be used for repatriation of remains, among other things.
