Obtaining a driving license in Bahrain!

Hello!


I'm from Singapore and new to Bahrain, I'm wondering if anyone could help me understand the process of obtaining a driving license a little better!


Based on my understanding you need to do the following:

  1. Go to the traffic directorate with a copy of your passport, 2 passport photos, proof of residency
  2. Attend a theory based lecture? (is this on the same day of application or do you have to book another day to attend this?)
  3. Get your learner license
  4. Find a driving instructor
  5. Go through a minimum of 22 hours of driving lessons
  6. Go for practical test


My questions are:

  1. At what point do you do your theory test? or is there no theory test?
  2. Is 22 hours of lessons the minimum?
  3. Can anybody recommend a driving instructor that has a good pass rate and is english speaking?
