I tend to stop in GRU often when I travel to Brazil. I might drop by on one of my stop overs.
Good luck.

Hello everybody,
just joined to learn more about Salavador and to possibly exchange and meet up with expats.
I've had my own company for past 20 years as a fractional or full time executive-in-residece and supporting companies wiht management, turnarounds, financing, M&A, JV, closure, key acocunts, businesss developement. I might be staying for a couple months linked to a special project.
I'm also eager to get some tips and hints for local life e.g. how to get by without CPF number.
Thank you & kind regards,
Tomas
02/02/25 Welcome, @Tomas JS. There is no easy way to "get by without CPF number" for any length of time in Brazil, but there's also no reason to be hesitant to get one: in itself it imposes no obligations on the holder, and it opens a lot of doors.

Hi Everyone,
I'm Matt. I plan to retire in September and move to Salvador. My wife is from Salvador and we have a nice Aprtment in Pituba. We'll be living there part of the year and back hear in the States part of the year. I'd really like to learn more on living there more full time (only been visiting a couple months a year for the last 5 years). Like how do taxes work (both Brazil taxes and US taxes with foreign tax credit)? What's the best way to buy a car? How about the best way to buy a bigger apartment? Any thoughts and advice would be much appreciated! Thanks Everyone!!
Matt

02/17/25 @Vanounou972 Welcome, Vanessa! Abadiânia is in the Entorno do Distrito Federal microregion of the State of Goiás, but the closest large city by far is Anápolis, just to the east in the Anápolis microregion. Your best bet for finding stores will be there, if Abadânia doesn't have the selection you want.

@danivichietti, welcome to the forum.
Just to clarify, are you a virtual assistant or someone who helps people from remote?
A virtual assistant typically refers to a software application designed to help users perform tasks or access information through voice or text commands. (Definition from chatgpt.com) This typically refers to a chatbot.
Do you have recommendations on where expats should consider when moving to São Paulo? There is currently an open thread on cost of living in various regions in Brazil. I would be interested in comparing cost of living.
Again, welcome to the forum Daniele.
Hello Pablo! Thank you for the opportunity to clarify, and for the warm welcome
*** [Promotional part removed)
Regarding recommendations for the best areas in São Paulo, I usually suggest neighborhoods in the West and South zones, although these tend to have a higher cost of living: Jardim Paulista, Jardins, Vila Madalena, Alto de Pinheiros, Higienópolis, Perdizes, Alto da Lapa, Pinheiros, and Itaim Bibi.
For those looking for more affordable yet still reasonably good areas, I recommend Vila Buarque, Santa CecÃlia, and Consolação.
I generally don't recommend neighborhoods in the East or North zones for expats, as they may not offer the same level of infrastructure, safety, or convenience.
São Paulo has by far the largest concentration of companies in Brazil. The cost of living here is higher compared to other cities.
Let me know if you have more questions about São Paulo (or Brazil!)
