To stay in touch in Canada, you will probable need an Internet connection. Here is some information to help you obtain it.

To obtain an Internet connection in Canada, you must determine which option suits you best. You can choose between telephone line, ADSL and cable. However, all these options are not available in all regions. After making your request to the service provider, you could wait a few days before having it installed.

If you live in an apartment which has already had an ADSL service in the past, the connection should not exceed 24 hours. If you have a laptop, you can access Wi-Fi against payment in several institutions such as airports, hotels and cafes. You can also go to an Internet cafe in your area. Telephone access to the Internet can cost $ 20 a month, or even less, including email addresses and website, among others.

High Speed

As for ADSL, the number of options and packages available vary according to the different cities. You will have to check with your local service provider. In general, services in the range of 128kbps and 256kbps cost around $ 30 per month while those around 10mbps cost an average of $ 55 per month.

You also go for a wired connection and save between 10 and 20% on purchases of separate services.

Save and cut the bills by availing the basic package: internet connection and cable. The downside is that you have limited choices of shows, most of which wouldn't fit your preference. At first, I thought it would be a big deal. But months have passed and I've proven that I can last the day without watching TV even for a week. Not without Internet connection. I'm watching TV shows that I like whenever possible. Even through your smartphone or tablet.
