We chose to drive to Belize for the same reason in late 2016 - 4 dogs and no way we were going to put them on a plane. We've heard of many people who make the drive in a few days or a week which seems crazy to me. Since we were making a ... Read More

I was just told by one of the owners at Helen's Market that the price of liquor is going up by 40% and beer and soda, as well. Anyone know what's going up, when and by how much, please? Thanks! Read More

RV living in Belize by delaware2belize
Hello People, Does anyone live in a RV in Belize? If so do you live in a park? or your own land? How did you get the RV to Belize and how much did it cost crossing into Mexico? Thanks for your time D2B
Our RV is older - 1985 - so that helped keep the costs down. Mexico entry was only about $60 US and we got a 10-year permit. Belize doesn't charge to visit with the RV, but the duties will kill you. Duty on the RV was around 70% of the value. We ... Read More

The only RV park we found was the one previously mentioned between San Ignacio and Succotz. It is currently closed, but someone just bought it and might be preparing to reopen it. However, I don't believe they have waste water hookups. We drove ... Read More
Driving to Belize by BCLawrence
We are considering driving to Stann Creek this summer from British Columbia. We are looking for the best routes through the US and Mexico. We might pull our tent trailer or we might hotel it.
We drove through Mexico from California in our 26-foot RV and had a great time (other than the awful roads). The RV parks were inexpensive and we parked in hotel parking lots when we couldn't find a park. Mexico is super inexpensive and the ... Read More
