Not living there full-time yet, but after dozens and dozens of trips, clearing land, fencing, bridge building (literally across creeks) - we have gotten to know a lot of locals and ex-pats.  Most of the ex-pats we have met are definitely ... Read More

Interestingly - if you have had Covid and have Antibodies, which both me and my wife have since we had Covid back in early January - we aren't eligible for vaccinations for at least 3-months. I am hearing rumblings that they move those that ... Read More

On one of our earlier trips down to Belize - I checked out a pharmacy in BC just to explore this very issue. A few years ago - I asked about Advair (for asthma) made by Glaxo Smith Kline as this is normally $300-$400 for a 30-day disc in US. It ... Read More

Is there a botfly problem in Belize?

Flies by BunnieMarie

My brother-in-law is in Belize and mentioned that they have bags of water hanging at restaurant dorrways to keep the flies away, is this true?

jvr1330

Supposedly - a shiny penny inside a clear bag of water - hung where direct sunlight can shine onto the bag and penny - resembles a spider to a fly. A previous poster is correct - many horse barns down here in the southern US still do this. In the ... Read More

I guess the British have an interest in this as they have the large training grounds about 1/2 way down the Coastal Rd. When that road is, or ever, paved - the country will benefit greatly from increased sales and taxes on land down there. Read More
