Passive Income Requirement by UKMark

Hi, I posted this a few days ago but didn't get a response. I would really appreciate to hear from anyone who managed to get the D7 visa with a lump sum rather than a regular passive income. This is the situation i'm in and can't find ...

hazmog

I did both. I also got a signed letter from my accountant showing my assets. Seemed to do the trick. Make sure you have a Portuguese bank account and NIF. Can be got online. Read More

Just to say, what sort of lump sum is it? If it's a large amount why not invest in a buy to let property which would give you a passive income and an asset you can sell later if you want to. Read More

I just did my interview last week. I went to VSF Global then they sent us to the consulate. At VSF they took photos and finger prints. We waited a while to go in at the consulate and then they asked me why I was going there and about my family and ... Read More

Is D7 visa right for me? by Isa Al

Hey, I am 24 years old and I am a fresh graduate and I am interested to move to Portugal to live and work but I am wondering if the D7 is the right choice for me. 1-I don’t have a passive income as I don’t work yet, but my family can ...

I think with a 100k in your bank you would be fine for a D7. I would put it in a Portuguese bank which can be opened remotely (for example Atlantico). You can also get a NIF online (just google it). Read More

I think you might be better posting on another site for this, maybe a business or entrepreneur site. Or you could try the Portugal subreddit on Reddit, lots of local people there who may be able to help you. Read More

Thanks for this. I have no plans of making it a Portuguese company. Whilst I'm a director, the vast majority of work is done without me now. In the UK you get 12k of salary tax free then dividends at 7.5%. Are you saying if all of my income ... Read More

Thank you for the reply Tony. You seem to know about this stuff. Would article 15 mean effectively I would not pay UK tax at all if I live in Portugal the vast majority of the time? If so, how would a base salary and dividends be taxed? I spoke ... Read More
