Need a contacts team

Post new topic

Hi, My wife and I are serious about relocating to the Algarve to start an independent,  Doctor-oriented Audiology business. We need a contact team to help us with all of the details; everything from selecting and checking availability of business names, to accountant, attorney, and licensure (for practicing audiology in Portugal) expertise. We also need a good contact for real estate purchase and/or leasing for personal and business), and someone who can help us put together a package for the proper info for a Gold Visa before July 1. We anticipate hiring a staff of two Doctors (of Audiology) and around 6 additional support staff to start.

We know (and have done) this in the US, but we have no contacts in Portugal. Thank you!

I think you might be better posting on another site for this, maybe a business or entrepreneur site. Or you could try the Portugal subreddit on Reddit, lots of local people there who may be able to help you.

Hi Jkmet,

I can talk about the Golden Visa scheme, but I can't recommend a particular company because I don't know any. There are Portuguese companies that know the country  well and foreign companies that are mostly targeting people from other countries.

I suggest you to look for a company based in Portugal. Please search it on the Internet, there are several.

They all work in the same way: they advise you, they speed up the visa process and they take a commissions for that.

I suggest you to contact Tricia Pimental. She is an American writer who lives in Portugal, knows the country well and is an international correspondent for several websites about expats. She speaks about visas and she is not an interested party, so she can be impartial.

You can contact her here (bottom of the webpage):

Golden Visa (SEF official website)

It is aimed at non-EU citizens who wish to obtain a residence permit in Portugal and who cumulatively fulfil the following requirements:
- to enter in Portugal legally, without the need for an additional visa;
- to make an investment in Portugal, which can be real estate, in companies/job creation or capital transfers;
- to stay for only 7 days in the year which can be followed or interpolated.

Golden Visa holders are entitled for 5 years:
- to enter and stay in Portugal;
- to circulate in the other countries that are part of the Schengen area without the need for a visa;
- to family reunification, allowing the applicant's closest relatives to benefit from the same advantages as the applicant, creating new opportunities in their lives;
- to reconcile the Golden Visa with the Non-Habitual Resident status (NHR/RNH);
- to access to a permanent residence permit in Portugal at the end of the 5 years; and
- to the Portuguese nationality at the end of the 5 years.

Regarding "investment in companies / job creation" Golden Visa option, it is required to create at least 10 jobs (the number can be reduced to 8 jobs in low density portuguese territories). The company may already exist or be established, as long as it has a stable establishment in Portugal.
