Any expats in Basel, Switzerland?

Post new topic

The Swiss Job

Hi,

Just want to know if there are any expats in Basel who can give me hints and tips to settling in here. Originally Irish, I moved to Basel last week to start work. As I haven't any German, any help would be appreciated!!

Hi Barry
Just read your ad, I live near Basel and I'm there very often, could give you some advice where to go. At the moment I'm in Montreal, Canada but will be back in Basel in about one month.
How old are you? And where do you work?
I could show you round when I'm back.

Please post some advice once you're settled in. I'm moving there soon myself! (Though if you've got specific questions, I can always forward them to my boyfriend, who's lived there before...)

The best thing to do if you want to share is to edit this wiki page: living in Switzerland

Hi Barry, I have just joined up too, been here for 10 months and still finding it quite hard.....culture language etc. How are you finding it? I came over from Scotland so HUGE culture change for me. Let us know how you are settling in and if you need any help

Hi Barry, Basel is a wonderful city to live, you can be sure. Somethings are still strange for me but I learned a lot. If you have specific questions I hope I can help you.

Hi Everybody,
I've just joined this community since I will move to Basel with my family (wife and 20 months son) starting from the 16th of september.
I'm a Rheumatologist working as Medical Leader in a Global Pharmaceutical Company.
We are currently living in Milan and we had a sneak peak of Basel for the MayDay.
This is just an icebreaking introduction from a New Expat in Basel :D
Cheers

Hello all, I'm Irish and living in Basel. Always motivated toward moving new people, feel free to contact me. I'm a translator and teacher, so can help u with all those scary German grammar questions.
Regards
B.
