D7 Appointments

Post new topic

morguba

Hi everyone.

My family and i have moved to the Algarve end of last year.

we have been looking for appointments to submit our D7 applications for over a month now, there are no available slots at all.

Is anybody else having this problem? Or am i doing it wrong.

Please kindly assist if any one know how to do it.

Thank you.

Which country do you have to have your appointment in?

JohnnyPT

Hi Morguba, Welcome.

Visa applications are made at the Portuguese consulate in your home country, or through VFS Global. Not directly in Portugal.

The interview with SEF in Portugal, will be previously scheduled after the submission of the visa through the consulate and after prior approval.

Thank you guys for coming back to me.

We are applying from Scotland , no appointment slots in either Edinburgh or Manchester .We are only allowed to submit at these 2 centres.

@morguba That is annoying for you. There have been appointments available to book in London for the past week for the second half of March. It is so disappointing that we have to rely on VFS for visa applications. Clearly the embassy are accepting application but VFS are understaffed in Scotland.

I had difficulty making an appointment online to renew my residency card, so I made an appointment with CLAIM in Silves, and they helped solve the problem. I highly suggest getting in touch with them.

Good luck!

Hi Johnny,

If I understand you right you're saying that the VISA that gets stamped in your passport in London or the other two VFS offices will have an appointment with AIMA ie date etc already booked ?  THat would be awesome!

Thanks,

As far as I know, that was the case a while ago. Now you have to make the appointment with AIMA by phone, after you've got your D7 visa. I'd appreciate it if someone could confirm that here.

Thank you - helps to manage my expectations - hopefully someone can confirm their recent London office D7 experience

Separately I'm putting a date on the initial Visa application for London office to head out to Portugal some two months after that appointment.  I've got travel insurance for a year from the date of appointment as they asked.  However there's nothing about showing an actual flight booking - hoping I don't need to do that till I hear if I get passed the first stage as they are snowed under so it make take a while.

Re getting a VFS Global appointment - keep trying, and on different browsers and clear your cookies in-between - and at all different times of day / night...    They will release them so you just have to be persistent and you'll get there!  It took me about 3 weeks with London
