Looking for some fun afternoon/weekend activities for 8 year old boy. Are there any english spoken sportsclubs for kids/ scouting or other activities?

I was going to say that the international school you are arranging for "Tom" should likely be the hub of such activities, but you wrote:

Please forgive me if this seems impertinent but I think you've just uncovered the flaw in your plan.
