My 75 year old American mother married a 25 year old Tunisian

Post new topic

Windy6996

My mother is 75 years old and has a history of being scammed by online foreign love interest. She is American, met 25 year old Tunisian online, went to Tunisia a couple of months later to meet up with him and they married and she returned to US 2 months later. He keeps her on messenger in the middle of her night since there is a7 hour time difference. She had paid how much money trying to get him over here of which he has several friends in the U.S. He has no children. She is on phone begging him all the time to say he loves her. She bought him a car when she was there and rented them an apt. Otherwise he lives with his mother and father and does not work. He tells my mother that his mom refuses to feed him and my mother keeps sending money and whatever it takes to get him here. She believes every word he says and has turned her back on her Christian faith trying to learn the Muslim religion. He speaks English well but she can't say the word no even in Arab. They have been married over a year. And she thinks he's genuine Opinions please. Thank you

mohamedalitlili

Hi,

I'm from tunisia and i'm sorry to tell you that in my opinion your mom is being used by this guy financially and also for the purpose of possibly immigrating to the US.

If I were you I would try to face your mother and go with her through all the facts of this relationship and explain your point but I believe it will be difficult to convince her. From a legal point of view, I'm not sure if you are able to prove that your mom is taken advantage of and sue this guy.

Please let me know if I could be of any help to you. And I hope that you see better things in Tunisia soon.

Best regards,

GuestPoster345

I am so sorry darling but you don't need our opinion, of course he is scamming her. You have to protect her and try to convince her to leave him, he doesn't love her she's his pass to America. You don't want your mum going through heart break at this age.

I am British married to a Tunisian and none of this is happening.

Windy6996

@gadearayed Thank you, your right I do know. But there is no convincing her. She is blinded by total deception and even turned her back on her faith. What is age difference between you and your spouse? I'm quite sure it's not a  50 year age gap. If US denys his Visa she will attempt to go back to Tunisia, no doubt about it! Thank you for your input and God Bless you!

Windy6996

@mohamedalitlili Yes, she gets angry and is in total denial. So an intervention seems impossible, believe me we have tried. If it were legitimate and she was not always talking low confound to her bedroom asking him over and over again to tell her that he loves her, I would be more than happy for her but it's just not like that. TY for your reply. I'll keep you posted!

Windy what gives ?

she’s married …game-set-match

let her learn the hard way

a/ in a million years will the American embassy will give them ( or him in particular ) that sealed enveloppe which secures him a green card

the process takes at least a year ..the interview is tough as nail

the paper work she has to produce is a novel

so assuming she has a retirement and she owns her home back in America

he has no other alternative than to suck the life out of her …she made her bad ..she’s gonna lay in it …

sorry

i am an American with a Tunisian dad

May god helps u cope with this crap

and May god has mercy on her soul

this is not a love story this is a sorry story..

hang in there …

@Windy6996 I am so sorry darling, it must be stressful for you. It's likely his visa will be rejected and living in Tunisia will not be easy for her. I can't live there, still in the process of applying for a visa. Age gal between us is 2 years, both in our 30's

Windy6996

@Ozitoun Yes, I agree totally. They've been married Jan makes a year and trying to get him over here the same amount of time. He tells her Everything is so much more expensive over there and that his mom won't let him eat there plus she bought him a car while she was there. Tried all afternoon while I was taking her to one of her numerous doctors appointments too get him to answer the phone to no avail. He likes to talk to her at 8am Tunisian time which is 1am in the morning our time. And at 9:30 his time on a Saturday night his time which is 2:30 inn the afternoon for her he says it's freezing there and they have no heat so he must go to bed and bundle up, the only way to stay warm and she believes all that crap. Would not be so bad if it was just her money but she waste away half of my grandsons survival benefits funding her fetish for young foreign scammers. And my grandson does not even live with her anymore. He's been back with his mom for a long time. God knows, and He sees all and that's why none of this is going to end good for her! Thanks for your input!

Windy6996

@gadearayed See, that's a huge difference. What 75 year old in their right mind falls madly in blind obsession with a 25 year old boy who does not even work. She is his job and he is very good at it. Actually she makes it all too easy for him. It's hard to stay civil with her. And even him she nags constantly, where are you? Who are you with? Do you love me? She acts like a teenager and puts him above her family and even herself. She has told so many lies in the paperwork trying to get him here as she tries to learn all she can about the Muslim faith as she has been a Christian her whole life. It's all going down hill for her it is apparent. Yes it's extremely frustrating. Thank you for your input!

Ozitoun

Wendy,

you have established that he’s a scammer ..And what scammers do best is manipulate..he’s gonna suck the life out of her ( sorry it’s a fact ) till she got nothing more to give then he will drop her like a hot potato …and he will try to move to the next victim …he may be living in beja Tunisia or Redding Oregon they are all SWINDLERS ..

if ur mom is doing something illegal to have access to more funds report her ..So stop with he’s doing this and that …

Windy6996

  • @Ozitoun Right, he is a for real person in Beja, she went there after meeting him online and they married. But he is a swindler all the same..

Ozitoun

In conclusion

it’s her life let her f….it up

u cannt fix stupid

Windy6996

@Ozitoun Exactly

Windy6996

@mohamedalitlili it's not getting better! I'm here taking care of her yet she talks me down to him as he does his mother to her. He's pressuring her all the time to be more persistent in getting him over here. Yet he asks when we are coming there to visit as it's likely she would need an escort as she is partially dis-abled. It's a sad story as she has not been my mother in the normal sense since she started her online quests for love. She was bluffed by scammers twice before and even though this is an actual legitimate person, my heart tells me it's not much different. It's truly heartbreaking to everyone that knows her, past and present. I live with her and I'm just the one who catches the heat for everyone else that questions her actions. Thanks

@Windy6996 Im surprised that the Lawyer or Beladiya went through with the marriage given the huge age difference - maybe they are getting ‘paid’ too? Im sorry to say it does sound like she is being scammed. Is she 100% sure she is legally married & has she started the US visa process?

eslsbt

@Windy6996 Im surprised that the Beladiya or Lawyer married them - maybe they are getting paid too? There is no doubt in my mind that she is being scammed. Is she 100% sure that she is even legally married? Has she started the US visa process?

Windy6996

@eslsbt yes, she has all the marriage certificates and paperwork. The visa process has began. Yes she is getting scammed. She sends him about 1300.$ at least a month and he hangs out in the coffee shop with his buddies. She is constantly begging him to tell her that he loves her. She lived with him for 1 month and was over there for only 2. She thinks he's for real because he reminds her to take her meds. When he gets tired of talking on messenger he makes her believe something is the matter with one or both of their signals. It's so sad. I think he's about to get denied his visa honestly. And He's not going to want her there. She's not rich. She over draws her checking account every month.

Windy6996

@eslsbt probably paid them too! Now that you mention it!

Antjeh

@Windy6996 what do you mean with "my grandsons survival benefits"?

Winters can be cold in Tunisia (even snow) and many houses don't have heating. But families help each other & I never heard of a Tunisian mother refusing to feed her children.

A car is very much a luxury item in Tunisia.

Life as a retiree in Tunisia can be very pleasant and medical care is good, provided you can pay privately.

Antjeh

@Windy6996 $1300/month ??!? - Average salary in Tunisia is about $200-300/month 1f633.svg

martaregina

Hello @windy6996! I hope all is well with you and family even with this whole situation.

Unfortunately, many men on the internet like to deceive women and unfortunately abuse the love and trust that women place in them. This should not be the attitude of many men who claim to be God-fearing and the worst thing is that most are just looking at the money they can raise from these women. I've been through something similar and my luck was that I didn't marry him. But I even thought about going to live in Medenine for love. Today I see that many of them do not respect our dedication and soon find another one to deceive. I hope your mother hears you. Good luck to you and fraternal hugs.  ðŸ¤

Windy6996

@martaregina thank you so much! It's not getting any better. He's off celebrating Eid with his friends in Tunisia and she's sitting here looking sad in the US because he is not on messenger talking to her. That's her life and she's willing to pay for it! Thanks again and hugs back to you!

Windy6996

@Antjeh that's how much my mother sends him from US every month

Windy6996

@Antjeh she gets my grandsons check here in the US  and gives him/his mother 700 of it a month, the remaining 1300 she sends to her"husband" in Tunisia to do with it whatever he does.

Uaremylovely1

Wow does she even realize $1 is like 2.78 dinar so he is really getting over like a *** â¤ï¸ 🀠on her. I’m sorry you have to witness your mother throw her life away over this man and after 75 years convert over a user. I think you have to let her fall though. You should suggest her new family taking care of her instead so she realizes she doesn’t have anyone and she’s being delusional. Sometimes it takes tough love. I’m sorry I know this is your mother but she has to face reality. I pray you find a solution but it really is her life and only she can be accountable for it.

Ozitoun

@Uaremylovely1 in other words I pretty much advised her to butt out.  The lady is 75 ..com’on

and I doubt it if the embassy will facilitate his move to the states …🇺🇸ÓË¥ï¸ðŸ‡¹ðŸ‡³

Uaremylovely1

@Ozitoun yeah I was co-signing what you said. I know it hurts but she has to let her mother be accountable and step back a little.

Ozitoun

@Uaremylovely1 how about  stand back a lot

i find the daughter annoying ..

m’as we say

you cannt fix stupid !!!

So sad 😞. I have been married tunisian man. I am older he is younger. But we have so much love and respect for each other. He never asks me for nothing. Just my love. I hope your mother w be happy 😊 😃

Windy6996

@Uaremylovely1 thank you! I know it. Perhaps if I did not live with her and experience the madness on the daily up close and personal as well as she spends almost 2/3 of my grandsons check every month I would not give 2 sh_ts what she did! And that's another story all together..

Windy6996

@Uaremylovely1 thank you!

Windy6996

@lainahudson yeah, me too!

i married a Tunisian, he was lovely until he came here to the UK.

he then showed his true colours.

I divorced him … lesson learnt

My mother had a stroke and had her big toe amputated, I found her bank statements where she sent her husband 19,000$ U.S in the last 11 months. I have him totally blocked on everything, I monitor her messenger and have withdrawn petition for him to come here. It's for her own good. She has been in hospital for a month now and will have to go to rehab. She is still totally blind and he's probably moved on to the next one...l

Hello there..

i’m sorry to hear about your experience.. and lessons learned.. 😔

However sadly 100’s women and girls out there in Europe and North America, who have yet to learn the lessons..

LOVE is blind, deaf, mute, even quadriplegic/paraplegic when it’s come towards Tunisian men..🤭

Please take care.. ðŸ™

Hi there..

You may want to file for guardianship of your mother through probate court, guardianship for both person and estate. To be in a safe side.. ðŸ™

And if in case, it’s difficult to process the guardianship.. at least let her complete an Advance Directive naming you.

Call local probate court or look it up online to more info.

Good luck..

@Windy6996 Im sorry to hear this & hope your Mum gets well soon. There is financial recourse ;I know of several people that have received money back from scammers in Tunisia. Its worth reporting him to the authorities in Tunisia & I would definitely speak to your Mum’s bank & see if there is any recourse to retrieve her funds. This is a marriage fraud. 60k TDN is a huge amount of money.
