retiring to malta

Post new topic

adele21

Hi there, my name is Sue my husband is Stuart. We are making plans to move to Malta, be it at the early stages of planning. We looked at some apartments in June of this year and would like information on what to do next basically. We are in touch with an estate agent in St Pauls Bay which is our fav destination and would ideally like to rent our house out in England and see how it goes. Any advice would be gratefully received.

Christine

George could you PM it to me, save me hours having it on one list, Thanks Jim. Sue/Stuart we just did the move 8 weeks ago, and I am still flying back and forth to UK. Getting a place was pretty easy and everything so far has been ok, appart from the roads/driving. every day there is a moment, need to learn some suitable Maltese phrases. I am sure you will enjoy Malta.

Could you possibly send me the link also.
I would love to retire to Malta early next year but I fear that my pension of +- 850  wont cover all the costs. The main problem would be rent, not more than 350 per month. I can manage on the rest as I dont need much to make me happy.Thanking you

Hi Gail,
While I am not qualified to answer your questions - I don't even live in Malta yet (will be moving later this year). However my Mother in Law has lived there for many years and her pension is around the figure you quote. You should (with negotiation) get a nice apartment for the sort of money you are talking about (probably less). Good luck
Matt
