Can a Bahraini resident move to KSA permanently & work there?

Post new topic

Hello everyone, I hope you guys are doing well.

I'm living in Bahrain on a work visa and I would like to move to KSA permanently and search for a job there as my friends and family live there so I need clarification on a couple of things.

1: Can I apply a visa of KSA from bahrain?

2: Will it be a work visa (like would I be able to work there) or tourist visa?

3: How much does it cost?

4: What's the duration of the visa?

5: If I move to KSA and find a job there, how will I get a work permit there since I'm a bahraini resident?

6: Or do I have to cancel my bahraini visa and move back to my home country and then go to KSA on a new visa or can I do all this from here?

Your help will be appreciated,

Abdullah

Dear Abdullah,

Hope this helps

1: Can I apply a visa of KSA from bahrain? - It depends on whats your current Visa status in Bahrain, If you already have a valid permit here in Bahrain then you may go to Saudi on a visit or work permit and continue to work there. If your current sponsor doesnt cancel your work permit in Bahrain then you in most cases can hold work permits from 2 countries .i.e Bahrain & Saudi, but again please have this checked through a lawyer.

2: Will it be a work visa (like would I be able to work there) or tourist visa?

It depends if you have a sponsor or a work permit there in Saudi. If not you can go on a tourist visa,

3: How much does it cost? What?

4: What's the duration of the visa? Which visa? Tourist visa is valid for a period of 1 year.

5: If I move to KSA and find a job there, how will I get a work permit there since I'm a bahraini resident? There is no relation between Bahrain and Saudi iqama, they are 2 separate things.

6: Or do I have to cancel my bahraini visa and move back to my home country and then go to KSA on a new visa or can I do all this from here? Depends on what you want to do or what your HR advises you. You could do both.

Again, have this verified as I am just giving you my 2 cents.

1) Yes. Tourist visa online as a Bahrain resident

2) Yourself, you can only get a tourist visa. Work visas can only be sponsored by employers

3) Go to VFS Tahseel website and look at the costs

4) 1 year mutliple entry

5) Your company needs to sort that out. You would need to get work visa stamped from either Bahrain or your home country depending on how your company handles this. In the majority of cases, you would need to go back home as most companies don't have a visa quota to allocate to countries outside of home country nationality for the worker they are hiring. Go and search the Bahrain forum, I have answered this exact questions hundreds of times

6) Read above.

As a side note, I got my KSA work visa from Bahrain and hold residency for both Bahrain & Saudi.
