Fire Stick HD, Apple TV, other - streaming question

Post new topic

Greetings!  Time for pr3d4t0r's Weird Question of the Week™.

I use Amazon's Fire Stick TV HD or Apple TV as a "hub" for accessing content.  I've used the Fire Stick in Japan without issues, but Amazon has a presence there.  If you have one of these, or Roku, or Chromecast, or a Linux/Kodi/PLEX/whatever/custom-deal -- are there any region blocking issues to consider?  What's your experience?  Any Thai/Asia streaming device that you'd recommend and I don't know about?  I used the Fire Stick all over the Europe, Japan, Americas linked to my US or MX Amazon accounts, but never in Thailand (we were too busy playing tourist and looking at places to live last March/April).

Used to running the home theater device through an OpenWRT VPN router if required, figuring out what I need to plan for.  Prefer to run on the regular network to reduce lag.

Thanks in advance and cheers!

There are no region blocking issues in Thailand that I know of. You can buy Amazon's Fire Sticks in Thailand, even online, and other brands as well. I have a TCL Google TV with a built-in Chromecast but some content is only available in the US, it might be available in the future, who knows?

@Leeds forever! - Awesome, thanks.  As long as the devices don't brick there, this is perfect.  Have a great day, amigo!
