Job Seeker Visa waiting time

Post new topic

mariacmorenovarela

Does anyone in this forum applied for this type of Visa from the USA?

I applied on June 7, they told me around 60 days, not sure If could take longer and not sure If I should contact the Consulate.

Any input will be appreciated.

Hi Maria, how has your Portugal job seeker visa go? Did you get it? If so, how long did it take you?

mariacmorenovarela

Hi. I am still waiting believe it or not.

Consulate processed on June,

Waiting for SEF to assign a date for the appointment.

My lawyer is analyzing the situation to see what else can be done.

It it possible to apply for a temporary job seeker visa from within Portugal (e.g. as a visitor with a tourist visa)? I was told that anybody can come as a tourist to Portugal, apply for that visa and then apply for a long stay visa, which may take a very long time to get, but allows to remain in Portugal.

Is is the above correct?

mariacmorenovarela

That I really don't know. 😑

this certainly sounds like a way for some to bypass embassy visa quotas and long waiting times abroad
