Police clearance as a non-resident

Has anyone managed to get a Kenyan Police Clearance Certificate when they are a non-resident?

I have been in Kenya for 2.5 years, doing visa runs whilst waiting on my Ordinary K permit (still not out).

I am applying for a visa for a country that requires I provide a Police Clearance Certificate for any country I have stayed in for longer than 3 months.

You have to have been in Kenya for over 6 months to obtain a police certificate of good conduct, so you won't be able to obtain one (at least by honest means) if you have stayed in Kenya on serial single entry visas.

Why has it taken 2.5 years to obtain a Class K - mine took a little under 6 months?

Ready Now

I applied for a PCC about six weeks ago, it’s the only document missing from my permanent residence application in the country I now reside in. They gave me a month to get it done and I explained that I have no control over how long it takes a particular country. I don’t want them to process the application without the PCC because that will mean a denial. Is there a way to expedite the process?

Hi, this might help or not, but I think what you're referring too is the certificate of good conduct, where your finger prints are taken, the services are at huduma centre then you'll go to the CID headquarters for the rest.

Hi,

For foreigners, a PCC is now applied through e-citizen. Your documents will be approved online and once you have paid, you will the proceed for biometrics at DCI and you will receive your police clearance after a couple of days. My most recent experience from Dec 2023 it took averagely 2-3 weeks to process PCCs for foreigners. If you are experiencing a delay, you can start by checking if the documents may not have been approved from your e-citizen account.

Muluabujalaw:  You still need to have been in country for over 6 months to obtain a Certificate of Good Conduct, do you not, which rules out anyone who holds a Single Entry Permit.
