DHL mailing document

Post new topic

Any recommendations of who has the cheapest rate to send a document to USA, everyone I'm check wants 4000 to 5000 K pesos for just a document.

THOUGHTS?

Siobhan222

@CHRISTOPHER DAVID56 If it's something that must be physically delivered but does not require a 'wet signature', in my experience it's been significantly more cost-effective to scan and email it to a mail delivery service/bike carrier and have them deliver it. If it's a document that requires a 'wet signature', that is the average rate I've found also.

CHRISTOPHER DAVID56

@Siobhan222, yeah, thanks, it does require original signatures.  I thought I read somewhere that DHL offers discount on Wed, so ck on that, thank you for the response

I think I've seen FedEx has the Wednesday discount. The best option I've found is to find someone traveling back to the US. On all my trips back, I take mail and returns for people in town.

@ddmcghee Personally, I rarely see expats, but that is a very good idea!

It doesn’t have to be an expat! Plenty of Dominicans travel to the US. While building our house, our Dominican builder was visiting the IS at least quarterly - much more often than we were! 🤣

If time is not an issue sign up with EPS to ship small items and mail regular mail takes about 3 weeks. But if you send a package it takes approximately a week once you send it to the address in Miami and it cost $5 a pound roughly

Siobhan222

@emetz55 this is very helpful!! I looked them up and there is an EPS located where I’m at.

emetz55

I buy a ton of things from Amazon and my drugstore sends my prescriptions that way and it usually takes one week to maybe 10 days after it gets to Miami. I am in so sore and the girls at this office all speak English and it's a very easy process to set up your account

UncleBuck

Once again, this post is off-track.  The OP is looking to SEND to the USA.

Siobhan222

@UncleBuck unless I’m completely missing something, emetz55’s original reply addressed how to ship items and a reduced rate. It was then followed up with a statement addressing the ease of receiving packages as well.

I do appreciate your diligence in attempting to keep things on topic.

Welcome to the forums. If you do a search you will find several threads with this information.

Easy, BM cargo they have offices in most bigger/mid size cities search the web and create a free account.

I've used them for a year without any issues, just a bit slow when it gets to Dominican like everything else so its not a surprise something like a amazon item that's 1lb is often 250 peso

WillieWeb

My BMCargo shipments are delivered (Cabrera) one day after arrival in MIA

Again - as Uncle Buck pointed out already, the OP is asking about sending TO the US FROM DR.

There are plenty of other established threads about shipping to the DR with freight companies and mail forwarders.

For the few  times i neef this serv I just pay Frdex or another to send it
