Unless you have a working visa, you will be unable to work in Thailand.

My understanding is you will be unable to get a bar manager job if you are not Thai.

However, if you buy a pub, you can manage that, but you will need at least 4 Thai employees. My understanding also, is you can not do the work yourself, you can only instruct.

Hello,

Thank you for your reply.

I recently finished a job in marketing, where the employers got me my work permit. I thought that management positions were available to Non Thai's? I'm thinking more hotel bar manager than go go bars.

I agree, it is near on impossible to get an employed job in Thailand.

Thanks again.

Leeds forever!

Being a "manager" isn't a job per se, that makes it possible to apply for a wp as a foreigner. You must be hired by for example a hotel, in your case probably a top notch (foreign owned?) hotel, for a certain position. Forget to manage a bar, small or large, unless you're the owner sitting in a chair all night long overseeing your employees.

Hello.

Thank you for your message.

Yes I think that's the way forward. The problem is finding them! Foreign owned hotels....

I guess we're talking about for example Hilton,Holiday Inn or Hard Rock Hotel. There are more in the Pattaya area. Top notch hotels are popping up everywhere.

Hi,

Just to be clear. I was not referring to gogo bars. Bars in Thailand that are not connected to hotels are not all gogo bars.

Some of my friends own legitimate bars here in Chiang Mai.

Best of luck to you.
