Satellite internet

Post new topic

Hi there,

Can anyone recommend satellite internet providers in Belize? Hughesnet or Viasat.

Thanks

I don't know of anyone using a satellite ISP.

However for the last four years I have been pleased with the fixed point wireless internet service provided by the cellular company name Smart. Low latency, reasonable prices, and rock solid uptime. I participate in Zoom calls, watch videos/movies etc on their lowest priced tier without buffering.

Google Smart Belize for more info and phone numbers.

The current Starlink (LEO Satellite) coverage map shows Belize as "Starting in 2024". You might want to get on their wait list, if it is within your budget.

I don’t know where you are located, but if in Cayo, check Infinite Wireless.

The only companies I know about are your basic internet providers, DIGI and Centaur Cable. DIGI is the most popular.

@barkerdp  Hughesnet is worse than awful. Now that much of Belize has 4G coverage on the mainland, I switched to broadband for internet.
