Spanish golden visa, criminal record

Post new topic

Hi all

I'm currently 38 and from the UK applying for golden the visa. Having spent 850,000 euro on properties I'm abit concerned as I have a criminal record from 6 years ago.

Was taken to court by council trading standards for displaying some logos on my website and invoices of some federations I was no longer part of. Abit nieve and didn't act on it as quick so long story short I got a trading conviction. 3 convictions, 2 same which was for website and invoice and 1 other.

They are CP08001 CP08002 CP08005

I got a £2400 fine

I'm abit concerned this is going to impact my visa.

I meet all criteria have alot of savings and good income. Can anyone shed some light?

Kind regards

Anthony

After spending 850k, it's probably a bit late to be worrying about your criminal record. :-) You probably have to give them your ACRO and see what happens. As they're non-custodial convictions that's a big plus. But there is a lot of concern about Golden Visa/Passport schemes letting in "undesirables", so I suppose it's always possible that you get an assessor with a zero-tolerance approach.

For a Golden Visa and this level of investment, you probably have an immigration attorney working on your application. I'd expect them to know how to present everything to give you the best shot at being approved.

If they do reject you, you can probably appeal.

Also, it shouldn't be hard to get residence elsewhere (e.g. Bulgaria or Turkey or Serbia) where they'd probably not be bothered by your criminal record. This would give you a country with a clean criminal record certificate that you can provide for future applications instead of your UK one.
