Hello Everyone,

My name is Claudia and I am moving to Chengdu in August, to teach digital media at a Chengdu University but with English curriculum. I am looking forward to a new adventure, the food, the pandas, the tibetan mountains and chances to take some awesome photographs. I have started learning Chinese, if anyone in Chengdu wants to be friends get in touch! ; )

Hi Everyone.

My name is Llewellyn Dunaiski, hopefully en route to Dalian, CN soon. I have always been a big fan of Asia, its people, food, and culture. I look forward to starting a new life there. Would love to connect with locals and of course expats to explore wonderful Asia. I will be working in a private school in the interim but intend on doing much more. Look forward to connecting.

Hello!

I am Cassandra from Switzerland. My husband is Pakistani and he has been transferred to Nantong, Jiangsu just a couple days ago. He is now arranging everything so that me and our 2 kids can move there as well in July 2025.

I'm very excited because when I was working in kindergartens in Shenyang back in 2012, I met my husband because he was a student there. It's nice returning to China after leaving in 2014.

Unfortunately, I don't seem to be able find a lot of information regarding Nantong. It would be great to know more about this city and how life is there from other people. I'm wondering how the foreigner community is there and how everybody spends their time. I know Shanghai isn't too far away but it's still not close enough to visit every week.

@Julien

Hi Julien,

I am new to this community and still try to learn how to use this site to connect with other expats' families.  Few days ago, when I was replying to someone's message, I left my cell phone number in the message which was meant to connect with his daughter who is currently living in my city but other people on the forum saw my cellphone number and called me out of blue, I assumed that gentleman thought I was looking for a dating friend. NO, I am NOT here for dating, I am here trying to form an expat community in Nanjing so we can get together in Holidays, supporting expats' spouses when they need help, and our kids can make friends as they are living in a foreign county.

Can you please help me to delete that message with my cellphone number in it so others don't call me again?

Thank you.

Hi,

I'm English, retired, living in Chengdu's High Tech Zone since 2006 and have a Shiba Inu with attitude. I struggle badly with learning Chinese but I'm married to a Chinese doctor who's English is better than my Chinese which helps.

Nice to hear that there are still foreigners in Chengdu albeit that I have lost touch with everybody I knew (mainy from the photography club) before covid.
