Post new topic

Cheryl

Hello everyone,

As every year, we invite you to share your experience regarding the cost of living in Bahrain, and if possible, in the specific region or city where you live. This will help members who are planning to relocate in Bahrain.

Here are some points to guide you; the idea is to provide average prices for each category:

When it comes to housing, what is the cost of renting or buying an apartment or house in Bahrain?

How much do you pay for public transports such as buses, subways, trains, trams, or taxis?

Could you share the average monthly cost of your grocery shopping?

What is the cost of health insurance? How much does a medical consultation cost in Bahrain?

What are the tuition fees for children?

What are the average monthly costs for electricity, gas, water, internet, and phone plans?

For leisure activities, how much does it cost monthly?

If there are other expenses you find relevant, please feel free to share them!

Thank you for your contribution.

Hello Cheryl,

re: cost of liv in Bahrain…

in my case:

  • i own my flat.  i just pat a yearly maintenance fee of BD487/- based on apartment size.
  • Electricity & Water depends on season; in summer can go up to BD130 more or less and in winter BD20+;
  • Food and other kitchen-bathroom related items, about BD100+ (as a single)
  • yearly vehicle related expenses (service BD110; car wash BD20; registration BD33; 3rd part insurance BD52…etc);
  • Miscellaneous expenses:  clothing,  entertainment,  travels etc…cannot quantify…depends, since it does not fall within basic expenses.

However, one can find a more detailed “cost of living expenses” for any country…just google.

Hope this helps!
