Proof of Economic participation for Wife

Post new topic

Hello,

I have one query regarding the checklist while applying for Belgian Citizenship for my spouse who is a full time house wife.

Is it mandatory for her to work and provide proof of economic participation as well ?

one of the points they listed is  :

Proof of Economic participation

The eligible documents are : (RD 14/01/2013, Chapter IV, Article 7, 5°)

- or proof of 468 working days, during the last five years, immediately preceding the

        statement.

    private sector: individual accounts

    civil service: certificates from the civil service

    statutory official: proof of final appointment and certificates of public service

- or self-employed in main occupation: proof of affiliation to social insurance fund for self-employed +

proof of payment of 6 quarterly social payments during the last 5 years, immediately

       prior to the statement.

@umairsaeed01 If you are a Belgian citizen and she has been recognized as spouse of Belgian, She is not required to present this proof.

thanks for the info,

but I am not a Belgian citizen and we will most likely be applying for the citizenship together.

so by your answer does this mean that I have to apply first and then once I get the citizenship apply her F card and then apply for citizenship? is there anyother way ?

@umairsaeed01 Could be the only option but being not an expert, i would suggest to ask commune to see what they say about it. Hopefully someone who have been in the same situation could comment on your issue.

@ARMaliq Thanks for the comment.
