New Apostille Rules for Canadian Documents

Post new topic

It would be great to know from a Canadian who's needed a document this year whether they met that deadline or not.  If any province failed to designate an Issuing Authority, that could have held everyone up.        -@abthree

This might shed some light on the current situation in Canada. There are links to apostille information for provinces, as well.

This is great -- thanks.  I'm going to ask for this post to be pinned to the Forum, because Canada is a major contributor of expats to Brazil, and this is a huge change for them.  I was especially concerned about the stance that certain provinces might take, but it looks like they're all on board.

Hello everyone,

Please note that this new thread was created and pinned to the Brazil forum.

I just did a pile of documents last month.

The province of Alberta charges $10 each, and turn around time was one week.

The government of Canada is free, and it took them 3 weeks, even though their site that it could take up to three months.

YMMV............
