No one can answer this better than the Ethiopian embassy.

anssieriksen

Okay. i thought that here might be for example finnish people who had been going thru this project.

mosergio89

Each country sets its own rules and requires different documents. Therefore, the Ethiopian government can best answer this question.

anssieriksen

That i  know but in Finland its not easy to all information and closest consulate is in Sweden.

but i will continue to work on it.

anssieriksen

And contacting and answers from Ethiopia is not that simple

Congratulations@anssieriksen

Well your message isn't that clear but if I understand you better, you are asking for which documents should you take along.

Well first you need to apply for an Ethiopian tourist visa at the embassy in Sweden , all you need for your application is  filling the required forms and proof of funds for your stay i don't think you need any other documents.

You are good to Go

Wish you a successfully trip down to Africa for your wedding.

anssieriksen

Thank you for your answer! basicly documents i know and how to deal with those.

we gonna have civil wedding in Addis. okay i know where we should go, but is it that we need to wait 21 days to have legalizing for our marriage document.

or could we do evrything like during couple of days?

anssieriksen

Civil marriage ln city administration then after that to ministry of foreign affairs and then documents to Finnish embassy… and this in Addis i think.

but does it take long???

michielemeruwa

You welcome @anssieriksen

I'm from Nigeria, and almost all African countries systems are similar, so i understand why the process is almost a most , it's due to security to ascertain the genuineness of the relationship.

My advice is apply and do your wedding, get it notarized,  then you can return to finland allow your wife and a lawyer followup with the ministry but if you have 3 weeks to spare you can stay back.

NB: Getting a lawyer to interface with the ministry might make it easier And faster, you might not need 21days to get things done  though things might get a bit slower with the finish embassy.

anssieriksen

Hmmm… well getting a lawyer is gonna give much more costs. Havent reserved on that.

Im not sure about that 21 days, i just read it randomly from somewhere.

@anssieriksen

To be on a safer side allow your Ethiopian girlfriend get you all the required details and don't over spend yourself marriage is a 2 sided thing.

Wishing you best of luck
