Moving to Crete to work for the Summer at 40

Post new topic

Katie63

Good morning all,

Thanks for reading my post.

I'm considering moving to Crete or one of the other Islands (depending on work) for the Summer months and I was looking for some advice.

I've worked in bars, hostels and hotels abroad before as a student but not sure how to go about it being older. I've been living to corporate life in London and want to make a change.

Im not looking for a party scene but maybe somewhere where there are things to see and do and I can work in a local restaurant or bar. I heard the hours can be gruelling though.

I'm not sure where to start looking for jobs and somewhere to stay so thought I'd reach out to this group for any insights.

Thanks on advance

Katie

What passport do you hold? If it's a British one, things are a lot more trickier than when the UK was in the EU because you needed need a visa then.

Yes, I have a British Passport

Have a read of this then

Thank you, looks like I can get a national Visa. I wondered if it's hard finding work if you don't speak Greek.
