Where will my money and asset goes if I die

suzannateja

Hi, I am Indonesian marry to Cambodian. I have been in Cambodia for 15 years.

We have our marriage legally registered in Cambodia, I would like to ask, if example one day I die, will my money and any asset (in both Cambodia and my origin country) goes to my husband automatically? If I want it goes to my children here in Cambodia, what should I prepare from now?

Thank you.

For any exceptions of the usual procedure you need to make a last will by a notary lawyer.

That way you can arrange things to go the way you want.

Talk to a lawyer at the first opportunity to discuss making a will, this is a legal nessasary and you must be advised by a professional.

It is not 'if' ... it is 'when I die'. This apart, this is indeed a good subject to prepare. For your Cambodia assets, you should arrange with a Cambodian notary indeed (I will have a name of one soon, recommended by a friend of mine, if that may interest you). And an Indonesian one in your country for your assets there.
